Is a Burch supposed to last a lifetime?

Can anyone who has had a Burch procedure done know how long it lasts? I had a Burch six years ago and now lately if my bladder is really full and I wait to the last second to pee two or three drops come out before I can make it to the bathroom. I can control the flow, but the little bit of dripping has made me wonder if it will last for the rest of my life. (I'm 50.) I have gained weight; could that be a cause? Anyone else have this happening to them?

No type prolapse repair is guaranteed to last for any specific amount of time, unfortunately.
