Silly question, not sure who to ask

I have my surgery in 29 days (not counting am I?) and I am already having hot flashes (I still have my right ovary) I have quit taking my "period control pills" PCPs (funny name, but I don't call them birth control pills) and here we are, hot flashes and insomina city. I guess I will need HRT when I have my surgery, if I am already going through this now. -this really is starting to remind me of when I was on Lupron- the sweaty collar etc-Has anyone ever gone through this? Is this a silly question? Is it all in my "head"? Is my body just giving up producing the "right" hormones in preparation?
Thank you all in advance for any advice.

Silly question, not sure who to ask

You are not asking a silly question at all. It sounds like once off of your BC pills (hormones), that your remaining ovary is not putting out the hormones your body needs and is letting you know.
If you are having your remaining ovary removed during surgery, and you are not near menopause age, and having symptoms now , then this is letting you know you may need some hormones to help with what you are experiencing.

I would talk to my dr prior to having surgery about what your options are for alleviating these symptoms.

I hope this helps some.

I had hot flashes and night sweats starting 2 years ago. Ovaries were not functioning correctly even then. Doctor had me on Climara before my surgery, and now after. No hot flashes since then. Good luck on your surgery.

Wow and all this time I was cursing the "PCPs" for not really working! And they sort of were. Thank you ladies. 29 days......
