Vivelle dot and swimming/whirlpool

I have been taking these patches. I have started swimming, and I notice it does stay stuck, my suit covers it. But, my mood dropped dramatically the next day after swimming once with the fmily. It kept falling and I couldn't bring it up on my own (medication). Despite sticking, does the estrogen dissolve or become diluted somehow when in a public swimming pool and whirlpool? Does it wash away, or do the chlorine and other chemicals interfere with it? Thanks for your assistance.

The medicine might get used up more quickly because exercise speeds up the metabolism. You might need to adjust for this if you exercise regularly. I read this somewhere. I think that if the patch is still tight, the water didn't get in. I use the patch, too.

While I don't use a patch for my hrt, I do use a patch for chronic pain, I've not any problems with swimming or hot tubbing. Swimming should not have any effect on the hormones in the patch, unless the patch loosens or comes off, which can effect the doseage.

I had the same experience after using a hot tub--totally seemed to zap my patch. My pharmacist said that heat and prolonged water immersion would zap it. My doctor also told me that I should consider showering instead of taking my ususal tub baths. I hate showers and haven't followed his advice and I do believe that my patch doesn't last as long as it is supposed to. Just my observation.

Hi. I also use the Vivelle-dots and the same loss of potency occured to me while on vacation and swimming in the ocean (daily, sometimes 2x/day) for a week. I didn't realize what was happening because I was changing the patch on the regular schedule and the patch was sticking just fine. Now I'm more careful and will change it more often when swimming. Showers don't impact it at all. Gal.
