I must admit I wasn't afraid, but now am.

I am going in for bladder repair, and uterus removal 1/31. I wasn't really worried, but came here for some information, and after reading the first page, I'm shaking in my boots.
Has anyone posted that has successful repair?
I feel very hopeless now, that this will be successful.

I must admit I wasn't afraid, but now am.

I had a LAVH with bladder repair 6 weeks ago and it seems successful so far. I did not have any incontinence before (don't know if you do or not) and do not have any now. Both surgery and recovery went good. I hope my story helps calm you some. GOOD LUCK!!!

I must admit I wasn't afraid, but now am.

that had her cystocele and hyst 24 years ago and she is still fine. Take it easy and give yourself plenty of time to heal.
I think the reason mine bladder repair failed is that I should have had my rectocele repaired at the same time - but the doctors scared me with the colostomy line - now I have no choice but to have it repaired.
Hugs.

Hi Spirogram,

Good luck tomorrow! You must keep in mind that most of the girls who post in bladder matters are here because they had a complication of some sort. So...I would say most sisters who went through their surgery with flying colors don't post too much here.

Good Luck! I think most people don't have any problems at all but if you do, you know where to come to get support. I didn't think I would have any problems but I have had some issues. I wish I had realized that earlier. I just thought I was going crazy. So come back often and tell us how you are doing.

I agree with Dee. You have to remember that people who don't have complications generally don't post here. I am sure there are more of them than us. Think positively, worrying about complications at this point won't help anything. Reading the posts from this forum before surgery probably isn't a good idea..... it could make a person crazy listening to us all vent.

Don't fret. I had a Burch procedure and a TAH last Oct. 31 and I consider a life changing experience - for the better!!!! I found a great uro-gyn who performed the surgergy and followed me closely afterwards taking care not to remove the catheter too quickly. You will not regret your decisions. I am a much happier person because of this surgery - I only wish that I had done it sooner.
