Jan 12 and still slow help!!!

Sending many hugs and smiles your way!

I had a simple TVH and two weeks later had another surgery to remove an abscess that involved the right ovary and tube. I had a very difficult time after that surgery...

So, my family and friends would call. They asked what I needed...cleaning, dinners, what? I needed to see people and they responded. If they could not come, they would call and chat or send cards. I am still laying low 7 weeks later...5 weeks post op from 2nd surgery. So...call your family and friends....have them bring you books, movies, magazines, lunch, or just themselves.

If you just want to chat, you can even email me...I check email quite often.

Pink, sorry to hear that you are having a horrible time. It's so hard on us when things don't go as we expected. To make it worse, you can't take hormones. Hopefully you have someone to take care of you so you can rest. It will get better, unfortunately, it's just a waiting game. This is a great place to come and get advice or just vent. There are many caring women here to listen!! Much love to you!!

Hi Pink Tulips! I'm so sorry that you're proceedure took the unexpected course that it did and that you are having a yucky day, in pain and just feeling crummy.

I had my TAH-BSO back in May, I'm in my 9th month of no hormones, at age 43. At first I had more intense flashes, and chills, plus it was summer-time. For a while I was thinking some of the upheaval was from my body recovering from the anethisia...I had no idea it was as hard on the body as it is. Though at this time I'm not "flash-free", I do feel fortunate that they are more like "flushes" with an occassional cooling trend. Layers always work well...plus, you get a little upper body workout: Take the sweater off...put it back on...take it off, wipe brow...put it back on! Sure, I'm different now. I'm slower now, where I used to be a little "white-tornado"...more like the tortise than the hare these days. I've embraced my changes, and I don't look back at how I used to feel or be (not too often anyway!).

I hope you feel better and better...one day at a time, and take care to treat yourself tenderly.

Best wishes!

Pink,

Sorry to hear that you're not well. I can sympathize with things not going as planned. I, too, had complications and needed a second surgery a few days after the first one and I still have my catheter. I am hoping it will be gone tomorrow after my cystogram. I am having the cold and hot flashes and emotional moments too! Hang in there girl. We'll get through this together! Take care.

My Stars!!!!

Compared to what you've gone through I shouldn't be complaining at all about anything!!! I had my LAVH the 13th of Jan. The dr. wound up taking my uterus of course and the left ovary/tube. Big deal compared to the work you've had done.
If I was you I'd be doing pretty close to nothing. Except the personal hygiene stuff. I don't know anything about hormones etc. cause I won't be taking them yet?!!
Please do yourself a huge favor and really really relax. The ladies on this website insist on that when they relay to me, and I'm insisting you do the same....Please
Slow baby steps... Amy the Cat
