How long does spotting last?

I did not have any spotting at all until 5 days post op (TAH/BSO - with vaginal cuff). I went to get staples out yesterday and ask Dr. if it was normal to spot, he said yes. But, I forgot to ask how long it usually lasts.

How long does spotting last?

Hi KaiRobin
Everyone is different. It isn't unusual to have some spotting. Some have it on and off for the full six weeks and some will bleed the full six weeks, although, my observation is that most don't.
As you heal and stitches begin to dissolve there is often some spotting, that can come and go. Some will find that if they over do and are on their feet too much, doing things they shouldn't be doing, it will cause spotting or bleeding.
Sorry to give such a vague answer, but that is the truth as I see it around here. If it is light for you now, chances are it won't last too long. Let us know how goes for you.
