Hi!

How long did you go without your patch? Obviously without it on your levels would fall and it will take time for them to reach optimum levels again. How long that will be is anyone's guess. I do hope it's sooner rather than later!

in there!

I ran out of mine too and I felt like poop for 2 days then it got better. Give it some time because everyone is different.

Anytime I make a hormone change it takes 2-3 days before I see any effect. That's my experience with the patch. margo

I have a question? How do you know that your hormone levels are off? Is it when we feel more irritable? I seem to feel great the first day its on and totally go down the toilet as the week goes by. What can I do? Is this feeling in my head?

Well It seems to take around 3 to 4 days for me to feel the difference. I did do something that has changed things. The vivelle dot patch says to change on the same 2 days of the week but, this means you have 3 days between 1 change then 4 days for the next. This makes your hormones stay unballanced. I started changing every 3 days and after about a week I started feeling better. No more up and downs.

Thanks

According to the prescribing leaflet for Vivelle dot - there is a surge in your blood almost immediately (I can certainly feel it when I put a new patch on - it's like having some coffee...) and it peaks around 12 hours. You are most likely experiencing the effect of fluctuation. I try to change mine every 3 1/2 days - that means, for example, Monday evenings and Friday mornings. I try to get the Monday one on early in the evening because of the aforementioned coffee effect

I too am on a Vivelle Dot and saw an improvement almost overnight when going up from .075 to 0.1.

Saw even more improvement when moving it from my abdomen to my hip.

Like the rest of you, I find it to be very energizing.

I am a Tuesday/Saturday girl. I change mine late afternoon on Tuesday and early am on Saturday.

I am also on the Vivelle.dot. I feel really good for about 2 days and then I start to get the mood swings, etc. Can someone tell me is the patch supposed to completely take away all the symptoms because I still get hot flashes and crying spells and I have been on the patch for 3 weeks now. I am on .1%. Does it go any higher?

Thanks, Amy

(((Amy))), the 0.1 Vivelle is the highest dose. I think it would be worth giving it more time to see if your symptoms get better since you're still relatively early in your recovery. Early weeks of recovery are a time of flutating hormones as the body depletes the stores of hormones made by the ovaries and adapts to the new estrogen source.

One thing you could try if you haven't already is to wear the patch on your rear instead of the abdomen. Absorption is about 20% better when worn on the rear. Also, be sure your patch is sticking completely with no gaps, wrinkles, air bubbles or lifting at the edges. Apply it to clean, dry skin which is free of all oils, lotions and powders. Hold it down with the palm of your hand to help make complete contact with your skin.

Let your doctor know if your symptoms continue to be a problem.
