How are the 3 month post-op sisters doing??

I had my TAH/BSO back on Nov. 16, 2005 and was just wondering how the sisters who are also 3 months post-op are doing???

I am doing great physically. Have lost 17 pounds since my surgery. I now have energy to go to the gym, lift weights, do the eliptical machine, treadmill, sit-ups, etc.

Emotionally I feel like I am finally on the right track!!! Thank goodness for that! I am on my third type of hormone therapy. I was on the Vivelle Dot, then Estratest half-strength, then Estratest full strength, and last week I had the HORMONE PELLETS implanted in the the fatty tissue of my stomach and within 3 days I was finally feeling like my old self again emotionally!! My insomnia is greatly improved as is my overall calmness and demeanor. I had bad rage/anger from being on too much testosterone!! So am glad that is over.

I would highly recommend the hormone pellets to anyone who is struggling with HRT issues. They are a realy are a real speciality and not many doctors do them, I only found one in my area that specializes in them but they have worked WONDERS FOR ME!!!

I would like to hear from other sisters who are at their 3 month post-op post.

Sending hugs and healing your way!!

Joanne

How are the 3 month post-op sisters doing??

Hi Joanne,
I had my surgery Nov. 15 TAH. I really didn't think there would be any light at the end of the tunnel there for awhile though, but I'm feeling better and better as time goes on. I'm currently on the Vivelle Dot patch so I was wondering about your experience with it ...

I have found since the surgery thay my skin is dry do you have any problems like that? I went to my skin doc and he told me to use a lotion called Amlactin it is wonderful, you can only get it from the pharmacy but its not a prescription. Kinda expensive but it is good stuff...

It's great to hear you are feeling much better now HUGS!!! Take care Karen

How are the 3 month post-op sisters doing??

Hi Ladies, I'm finally on track again. I really under estimated the whole recovery process and got rather frustrated with the constant weariness.
But all good here now, except for a sore tummy off and on. I guess that relates to how busy I was the day before!
I'm back walking and tramping again. I haven't gained the 5kg I lost prior to surgery and don't think I want to either.
I'm on hormones now, but at 51 I was having problems with menopause anyway.
All the best to the other 3 monthers!
cheers

How are the 3 month post-op sisters doing??

I just posted about being tired at 3 months post op ! I tire easily still, but other then that, I have had no complications. Would unbalaced hormones cause tiredness? I have my left ovary, but I am in menopause and not taking any hormones. Anyone know about this?
Glad to hear those that posted are doing ok !

How are the 3 month post-op sisters doing??

I'm actually closer to 4 months than 3, but I see a big difference just in the past couple of weeks. I hope so, because I go back to work tomorrow - eeeekkkkksss. My stamina isn't 100% yet but it wasn't so great before surgery either, between heavy nonstop periods and migraines - I must say, I do feel much better than before the surgery. I also underestimated the time needed to recover and got frustrated. Once I clued in that this was a bit of a journey and also a getting my hormones on track (for now, anyway) I am feeling sooo much better. Thanks a lot to the support and knowledge on this board. Hugs xoxox

How are the 3 month post-op sisters doing??

I'm doing really well. Except for freezing all the time!!
I never took any pain medication following my LAVH. Was driving 1 week afterwards, went back to work 3 weeks afterwards, and back in the gym full force 8 weeks afterwards. SO far, no problems. Thank goodness. Sorry to hear that some sisters are still having issues. Hang in there....things will get better!
