All this and I found a lump....

Fisrt of all, I'm sorry but this will probably ramble. I am fine with my upcoming hyster, in fact I am looking forward to it more than I thought I would. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing some breast pain for the last few weeks. (I'm not really sure how long) I did a BSE the after my last cycle, about 2 weeks ago and found a lump. I didn't say anything to anyone, just decided to keep an eye on it. Over the last two weeks I have noticed an increase in the frequency in the pain and kind of notice the lump while I am doing things. It is about the size of a marble and in the margin area between the nipple and the armpit. I finally mentioned it to my husband Thursday and he also felt it for me. Upon another BSE yesterday in the shower, I noticed a slightly smaller- more pea sized- lump near it. I am scheduled for a pre-op appointment on Friday with my gyn and am planning to show him and have him look at it. I am VERY scared and don't want to tell my husband how much it hurts or how often I can feel the lumps. I needed to get it out so I don't break!! I haven't told anyone else other than my DH so as not to worry anyone. I just can't bring myself to add this stress to my mom in addition to the hyster. Thanks for listening ladies!!!!!

All this and I found a lump....

I once had a lump that felt like that, and it turned out to be just a cyst that my doctor aspirated with a needle in her office. They tested the fluid that was withdrawn, and it was nothing. Until you see your doc and see what he/she says, you might as well just tell yourself that this is a cyst. You have absolutely nothing to lose by calling it a cyst until you see the doc. Try not to worry too much about it now. If it's really making you nuts, call and see if you can get in earlier for an exam so you don't have to wait. Good luck to you!

Hugs to you!

Definitely tell your doc at your upcoming appointment! You'll probably "feel" better after that just getting the issue addressed. And, you'll likely have some more tests ordered. It's normal to be scared, but let's just take one step at a time. The lump may be perfectly benign. We just don't know right now. The improtant thing it to get it checked out!

I can relate to the not telling the mom thing. I'm a melanoma survivor, also, and I don't tell my mom each time I have a skin biopsy until after I get the results. She'd just worry too much. And there's really nothing she could do. I don't think anyone would blame you for keeping this from mom until later.

You know you can always come here to vent, etc. We're here for you!!!

Many hugs!

All this and I found a lump....

Oriole Fan: To ease your mind, I would call your Doctor's office first thing on Tuesday morning to inquire. Maybe you can go in earlier than Friday to get it checked out. My best wishes...you and I have the same surgery date.

All this and I found a lump....

I have had this problem myself. I have had one removed and I have 3 back. I go in for my ultrasound AND mamogram tomorrow afternoon. I have what is called Fibrocystic breasts. Meaning I get cysts in them. They can be VERY painful and cafeene and periods makes the pain worse. Try some evening primrose (that is what my doc told me to try) it helps with the pain. I really notice the pain when I drink cafeene! By all means have it checked to be sure, but in my opinion it sounds like a cyst. I hope that is all it is and avoiding caffene and taking the primrose will help the pain. ((((HUGS))))

All this and I found a lump....

I am the first to admit it, I'm addicted to Diet Coke. That company should love me!!! I have tried to cut back as I find too much irritates my adeno, but I haven't noticed the pain before Jan. I am really sure it is a cyst, but I am still planning on getting it checked on Fri. My doc is military and only has this appointment for the length of time I need so I will just wait until Fri. It can't be any worse than waiting as long as I have. Thanks again ladies!!

All this and I found a lump....

Good luck tomorrow. I have had cysts in my breast and they are sore. My Dr. has aspirated them in the ofice. It does relieve the pressure. I have one in my right breast now and I suspect one in the left breast. Good luck and let us know what you find out!
