Hello to Dyonicia

My thoughts go out to you, I have had cath pretty much since hysty on 20 Feb, and are well fed up of them now. Nothing like the other ladies here who also had fistulas and waited 8 weeks with caths for the repair. My Ureo decided to just get on with it so I am home now and it is two weeks tomorrow since the op.

Recovery is slow. I suppose still recovering from Hysty also, plus 4 general anaesthetics in one month sure knocks you around.

You say you now have cath removed, are you having leakage from the vagina and having to wear those awful big pads? It is so uncomfy going out in public, I was always worried about the wet pants syndrome as seemed to leak out sides until the continence nurse gave me some of the gauze/lace type pants to wear that hold everything in place.

I will be thinking of you on the 29th, is your Uro doing a Cystogram then to see the extent of the damage? Was a hole made in bladder during surgery like ours were?

I have found the ladies here so full of wonderful and advice and support, and I know Dee, Erin and Catlady will also be here to support you like they have me. There are others too who have sent well wishes and shared their stories so I'm sure any questions you have now or later one of us will have experienced what you are going through. Stay strong it is a tough time and so unnecessary. Like you I think why did I have the operation now? This has been far worse than any pain I have ever had with a Uterus, although mentally I am not feeling depressed like I was when on the monthly rollercoaster.

Keep in touch, you may even like to start your own thread in Bladder matters with Fistular in the title it gets all us similar girls together.....

Hugs to you
Karen

Bladder leakage

Hi Dyonicia,

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this. I had another sonogram last Wednesday, and they are now going to do a CAT-scan this Saturday morning. So, I know what it is like to have our problems and get poked and prodded on some more. But look at the bright side, it has to end some time. With all the tests, they should catch anything before it could get any worse. The bright side for you is they know what is causing it and it is treatable, so hang in there a little longer, and some day soon we hope you'll be good as new. I'll be praying for you!
