I had a complete abdominal hysterectomy with a tummy tuck Dec 2, 2005. I have had fluid drained twice, have had some real hard areas around the incision and all along my left side. My Drs. say this is normal. Is anybody else having this trouble? I am 64.
I've not had the tummy tuck, but did have a draining seroma at my abdominal incision site postop. I had some very hard areas along that incision line for almost a year. Sounds like yours is more related to the tummy tuck procedure......
Am bumping you up, in hopes that others with your experience will come along and share soon.............s........Deb
I too had the tummy tuck and am draining alot of fluid and infection. I have a large area of hard tissue and some granulation recently. They tell me that the hardness is normal for some and can drain for some time. Please keep in regular contact with your doctor if you have any concerns and watch for things like redness, odour, fever etc.
I had a tummy tuck & muscle repair back in 8-05. Then I found out I needed a hysterectomy & had that 2-17-06. I would bet that the tightness you're feeling is from the tummy tuck. I'm 6 months post-op from the tuck & I still feel very tight & hard. It's probably normal because they pull the muscles very tight for the tuck. It was difficult to even stand straight up for the first few weeks. I don't feel any additional hardness from the hysterectomy. Hope this helps!!
One more thing miss kitty - try not to get discouraged....the tummy tuck is a LONG healing process...up to a year or more. But it's worth it
There's a great support forum for the tummy tuck at www.makemeheal.com. Those ladies (& men) are as nice as everyone here!!
