Hormone Questions

I am about 8 weeks post op after a TAH, I kept both ovaries. I am still waiting for my ovaries to kick in! I am having night sweats and hot flashes as well as sore joints and muscles. I also have noticed that my hair is changing color! It is getting very dark--it did this each time I was pregnant as well. Do you think this is all hormone related? I took lupron before my surgery so I have been having the hot flashes and night sweats for about 4 months now but the sore joints and muscles are new. My Dr. did a blood test to see about my hormone level and said it was fine but if so, then why? And what I really hate is the feelings of menapause now and then going through it again in my 50's. What does everyone else think?

Hormone Questions

I've heard that even if you keep your ovaries, that they can "sleep" for a while. I don't know what wakes them up but I definetly feel for you gals who kept your ovaries and have to wait out the "hybernation". I would've like to have kept mine but couldn't. Hope they wake up for ya real soon!!

Hormone Questions

I am confused about the hormone thing too....what do you mean by sleeping....I guess Ithought if they were left that they would not cause problems....Could this be the reason I am experiencing such cramping???Help!!

Hormone Questions

Your ovaries go into "shock" after the surgery and sometimes the don't function for a while. Therefore, the nightsweats etc can be a problem. I don't have my ovaries and still get cramps, so there are all kinds of aches and pains we still get.
