Frieda~ I am so sorry that you are not feeling good! What sort of tests has the doctor ordered for you?? I certainly hope that you feel better very soon! I haven't been feeling so great the past few weeks either so I KNOW what you are going through. Then of course on top of everything else, I have gotten a cold! It just isn't any fun at all!

I did pretty well yesterday with my food choices. I must attribute some of that to the cold I have though as I don't seem to have much of an appetite. Not sure if it's the cold itself doing that OR the meds for the cold.

Still waiting for the results of my blood work...hopefully they will get them today! I am NOT very patient when it comes to these things!

Happy Sailing!!

s Dawn and Freida, sorry your both under the weather, take care of yourselves

I picked up my book for the Curves challenge yesterday, it is an Australian edition so alot easy for me I think. I've started reading it and have got to say there is some good information in it. ( lots I'd read before but it always helps to refresh the old memory)
is definately worse since my hysterectomy.
Anyhow the think I really wanted to share was the part about metabolism. The classic yo-yo diet merry go round, doesn't do anything but set us up for failure. I must say for the last few years I've learnt that eating regular is important ( I eat about every 3 hours) I'm going to do the low carb version, it is supposed to kick start the metabolism. I am thankfull that they have ammended it and increased the carbs ( this is why I didn't do it last challenge) hopefully I'll find a balance.
Again not a diet , just continuing to "better" the way I eat.
Things look bright, I have realised that for almost 2 years now I have been gradually changing and replacing the old bad habits with good ones, this is longer than any so called diet I've ever been on

It is for life shipmates!!!!! hope all our MIA shipmates are doing ok,

Oceans Of Motion In March!

Hi Everyone

Sorry I've been lax in posting - life is just getting in the way. But I'm doing OK I suppose. Could be a lot worse.

Booked our vacation - a cruise, and just finished booking airfare. So that's settled. Sister comming in from Hawaii for 2 weeks in May - a couple of days with her is enough, so this should be interesting as she's staying 2 weeks w/my dad.

DD is busy (with my help) getting everything in order to buy her first home. Takes up a lot of time.

I've been trying to do everything in life and keep up with a good healthy eating pattern. Most of the time I'm doing OK.

Have to run - I'll try to stop in later again. DH just walked in and I need to talk to him.

Hugs to all -
Melissa

The cruise thru life is sometimes choppy. We need to remember that the storm shall pass! Keep the faith that we can do this!!

Today I go threw the work day ok... I just have been so darn tired all the time! I think that maybe what I have is a allergy to "something"...
Tuesday I was covered with hives?? Trying to sort out what it is is the problem...

I have been going threw bouts of being depressed as well... I think that it's just "life"..., daughter away at college..., getting older. I'll be fine!

Ok... April is upon us and we will need a new name for our April thread and who wants to start??? I have faith... I'll be looking!

I promise to come in and post more next week. Hopefully things will slow down a little...

Miss you all!

OMG another name? The poor brain is so full of I'm not sure I'll remember MY name!

Lets see....maybe actually thinking will help it work more?
April = showers so.....Sailing Thru April Showers?....
Apirl = Daylight Savings so....Spring Forward To Healthy Eating?
April = new beginnings so...April's Port of Possibilities?

omg, the brain just can't link April to anything that includes Cruises....except MY VACATION!!

I'll keep thinking Freida...come on ladies...you all anti up with some ideas, lol.

M.

Well, it's official I have diabetes!

I am having lots of emotions about it. I am depressed that I did this to myself by being FAT! I am 'mad' that I 'knew' there was a strong possibility of this due to family history and didn't even try to prevent it! I just kept eating and eating without any concern! I am worried that the diabetes will create other issues now! And I am concerned that I won't be able to get this eating thing under control enough to make a difference!

I am so hoping that this will turn out to be a true "blessing" for me!!

I am having some trouble coming up with breakfast ideas that are 'Core' foods other than eggs. I am trying to go low-fat and low-carb. Any suggestions...please!

Happy Sailing!
