March 2 can you believe it? Thursday

Hi everyone, I just caught up on all the goings-on since my last post last week. I've been thinking of you all, but have not had a moment to post with lots of medical and family stuff this week. Maybe things will calm down from now on. I can hope. At least I'm back to work today, so it will be less hectic than when I'm running around town with the family.
Today is my DM's 85th birthday and I made a cake for her so we've been enjoying it and I'm full My food intake over the last week has been so-so but I have not really gained anything back (yet) so I'm hopeful that I might really eventually progress downward this year. I think I'm down 15 lbs since last summer, the first 7 from changing my meds last fall, and the next 7-8 during my extended visit to FL. I'm amazed, and frankly I won't mind if the weight loss stays really slow, as long as it does happen, and I don't gain it back. Sigh.
Bliss, I'm so happy to see you - welcome back, if you will indeed be back with us!!
To everyone, I hope your day is happy and successful and you all feel great, and you stay warm and hydrated!
BFN,
Desk

Morning Desk and BEST s who come along,
It is kinda icy here this morning and I will be heading out soon for Dulcimore practice. Since Roys death we are going to practice during the day so his wife doesn't have to go home alone to a dark house.
today will be OP
bkfst is oatmeal and tea
yogurt
lunch a smoked pork chop and baked sweet potato and green beans
yogurt
dinner will be a salad with strawberries
Desk, now that everyone is settled it will be good to have a routine established. I am so glad for you that you have your parents right there with you. My olest sister wants to move out of a nearby town but hesitates because our dad goes to her house every Sunday for dinner and even though there are eight of us that live here she feels she needs to be here to take care of him. Funny how we want to take care of our parents. He will be 89 this year and is very active.
Melissa, I hope things work out for the good with your job and house buying.
I will check back in later. Have a wonderful OP day today. We can all do this, it just takes 1 ounce at a time, it all adds up to pounds lost.

March 2 can you believe it? Thursday
Good Morning Everyone! I haven't had time yet to read the posts since Saturday. I'll get caught up soon though...probably this evening.
We got back from Massachusetts last night, then DH ran and picked up our tables and lamps that were in. Then we had pizza that DD picked up. I unloaded the car this whole time.
We did find an apartment for DD. It came down to the last few hours of our last day of looking. And we found it, not the realtor. It's darling and she will be living in Stockbridge, MA..just one mile from the Red Lion Inn, and just 3 miles from her job. It's perfect. She has her own building, with parking underneath. The buildings are on big concrete pillars and raised. Her unit is an individual one, but it's still an apartment. The building next to her..they park under Molly's building, but that's all she has to share. She has her own stairway, deck, parking space, and a two bedroom apartment that over looks a wet land area. I'll try to get some pictures posted later today. I'll post when I get them in.
I'll catch up later. Right now DD and I have to drive through the ice/rain/snow storm that's going on to pick up the dog. We're waiting on rush hour to settle down, then we'll leave so we don't have to be in any sort of hurry. I should be back this evening, then I'll have lots of computer time tomorrow to catch up.
My food was bad, since we've been on the road, but I did get my walks in each day. BIL has a treadmill thank goodness. They had single digit temps and below zero wind chills the entire time we were there. And I got to Curves, so I'll get my 3 times in this week.
 to everyone.
I'll check back in later.

March 2 can you believe it? Thursday
Hello everyone! Hope you are having a good day. I was bummed out yesterday so I didnt post. I did a dumb thing by weighing on Tues night, what a shocker it was! The scales showed i'd gained 3.8 lbs.I retain fluid even though I take a diuretic, and I did slip up a few times--but surely not that much. I knew I shouldnt have weighed and they told me that. I must be more diligent this week, hopefully it will be gone by next week. This really gets old! Enough of my whinning...
I worked out Mon, but havent been able to get in there the last 2 days. I will definitely make it today and tomorrow to get my 3 days in. B: cheese toast on extra fiber bread and some yummy fruit salad. Here is the recipe--I don't know what it's called, but so good!
1 can crushed pineapple
1 8oz container of cool whip FF or lite
1 box of SF/FF pudding such as vanilla, lemon, banana
(whatever flavor you would like)
2-4 apples chopped up
You mix it all together, it is good. I only use 1 apple, for WW 1 c is 2pts. It is like a dessert. I have tried banana in it, but it turned brown and I didnt like that.
Not much else going on here, DD has her tutor coming.
I will check in again later. Have a good day...sharon

March 2 can you believe it? Thursday
Good morning everyone! Snowing here and school was even cancelled. Hopefully Curves will be open this evening so I can get in my third time for this week. Too busy the rest of the week to get there. We have decided that this is the weekend to paint our kitchen. DH is taking 2 days off so we don't have to rush. We are painting it white again but underneath the chair rail, I am painting stripes of white, blue, mauve and biege to match the border print. I am not sure if I am going to like this but I need a change from just plain boring white. Lots of exercise there and painting makes me thirsty for some reason or other so I will get in lots of water in as well. It is going to be a loooooooooonnnnnnnnggggggggggggg weekend so I am not sure I will get to post but I will try and keep you updated.
Sharon, s I had the same thing happen to me. Was up 3 pounds from a week ago and I also take a water pill. Something must be in the air.
Desk, God bless!
Marden, s to you on the loss of your friend. I can tell you are still upset about it!
Nancy, back. So glad you found a nice place for your DD to move into. I remember doing that like it was yesterday!
 to everyone else!
Almost forgot to mention the Curves challenge results. Out team came in third from the bottom with only 11 3/4 inches/pounds lost. The winning team lost a total of...........66 1/2. :wow:

March 2 can you believe it? Thursday
hello ladies,
I'm determined to get a post in today - I nearly snuck in again in wee hours of the morning ... but decided to get to bed instead. It's turning out to be one of those weeks where you just want it to end so you can start over!
The wind caught my TV aerial so we're struggling to get a signal with an indoor one until such time I can afford to get it fixed. I got a queue of things needing fixing including the main oven's element but thankfully I chose a cooker with double oven when I bought it so though it's mercifully slow (and small), I can cook. (well ... try!!) I didn't think the wind was bad at all today but it had part of my fence down. We rent our home so at least that won't cost me anything to get fixed . I just wish I could get this body fixed quickly so I can get back to working as I so hate being on disability benefits and it simply doesn't stretch to cover things breaking down en mass!
I haven't been as op as I wanted to be so far this week though I have made bigger efforts to eat more fruit and fresh veg instead of frozen. I even had a small breakfast before mid-morning today and this is one of my main focus points where I want to improve on. (Mind you, my sleep pattern going out the window doesn't help when I crawl out of bed way past then like the other day!!) I am still at the same weight which is ok. The suggestions and ideas I'm learning at the "Living Well" course should hopefully come into play there once I've figured what works for me. (The course teaches cognitive ways in which to learn to live with chronic illnesses of all kinds and covers so much more too, from eating healthy to managing meds, with heaps of websites for further information and reading.) I'll get there one day but tomorrow would be nice .
I still need to catch up with all the posts and will hopefully do this later this evening and pop back then maybe too.
Dinner tonight is quiche with mash and veg. It's not very awe inspiring but I gotta get ready to go out. I will have LF bio yoghurt for desrt with banana for dessert.
Hope everyone is having a good day,

March 2 can you believe it? Thursday
Hello to BEST Land
Made it for my 3rd day at the gym this week. I survived the drill instructor's class again. OMG will I be sore. She sure puts you thru the paces compared to our regular class instructor. Interesting how different they can be with the same excerises.
Forget the scales....Sharon and Emily - I with the two of you - I don't get it at all...... I'm up again. Story of my life. Musk - that's the nice thing about being a tenet, the owner must make the repairs (that's what I keep reminding DD, lol), Margo - nice you keep the friends widow in mind for your rehersals.
No word yet from my job or DD realitor re/her counter offer. No news is good new, right? LOL
Bkft: skipped as in a rush to get up and out to class
Snack: 2 cups of coffee and 2 pretzels at neighbors after class
Lunch: 1/3 cup of Krab salad
Dinner: not sure if it will be steak w/baked potato or pork chops - I have both available. Will wait till DH gets home and ask him his preferene - I like both.
I have a meeting tonight.....I'm sooooo tired of constant meetings. I think I need to quit a few more committees.....
Everyone sounds great...Nancy, glad your DD found a place, sounds very nice. Desk - glad your back at work - HBD to mom!!! 85, how great!
Oh well - need to get more done. I was soooooooo lonely in chat by myself last night....
M.

March 2 can you believe it? Thursday
Evening s
Practice went well today, everyone showed up and we had a good time, it was a little hard without Roy but time will make it easier. It has ended up that I am singing and playing my Dulcimore by myself Sunday, they tried to pick up the song I chose but to success, so I am solo, I just hope I don't mess it up too bad and with this cold and cough, oh who knows! Dh said you have too much of a cold to sing.
Melissa, sorry about chat, but I couldn't keep a connection on my computer. Darn dial-up.
Nancy, home and I am so glad you found your DD such a nice place to live, it really sounds perfect.
Musk, we too have an antenna for our tv reception and when it is windy it is hard to watch anything, and when we fix the antenna and tape something when it is really windy, oh boy, it is a mess. But we love living out here in the country.
Sharon, you know you always weigh more in the evening than when you get up too. You will get it off again. You are doing great.
Emily, I hope you get to go to Curves tonight. It is snowing and slippery here. I am glad I am in for the evening.
I won't be stopping in in the morning because I am babysitting all day. I called and told them about my cough and cold and she said come anyway. And then tomorrow evening I am going to my best friends house to celebrate her BD. So hopefully I will see you all on Saturday AM.
Have a good evening and a Fantastic Friday!
