Granuloma

Hi

I went for my one-year post-hysterectomy checkup this morning and to my surprise the doctor found granuloma with bleeding. I had noticed a slight discharge from time to time but thought it was just normal. He cauterized the site with silver nitrate and said that should take care of it. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, especially so long afterward.
Thanks

Granuloma

I had granulation at my three month check up and at my 6 month check up there was some. It seems to be gone now. My doc said at 6 months it was unusual but not unheard of. I don't know about 12 months post op. I am now 8 months post op, and having spotting now and then but it is one area of the incision that keeps coming open due to rough BM's.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Sorry you are having granulation problems. I had it 3x up to almost 6 mos.

Yes, it can happen a year later or longer.

Here is a link to a thread I found on it:

Hopefully, yours is not going to come back. I am 3 years now and mine is still okay and no return.

Thank you all for taking the time to enlighten me. I am still having spotting a day after the silver nitrate. I didn't know if this was OK. I have to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy tomorrow, but my gynecologist said it would be OK to go ahead. Guess it will spot-bleed for a few days?
