Chronic yeast infection from HRT??

I started using vagifem and got a yeast infection. The vagifem didn't work fast enough and I was still very dry and had bleeding after intimacy. So yesterday I started the premarin vagnal cream. I must have needed it because none of it ever leaked out.....I guess I absorbed it all! My question is......is this yeast infection thing going to be chronic for me while I am doing the vaginal cream or was it a fluke or will I get past that over time?.......Sometimes I don't know if the itchy is my yeast infection or the dryness from having no ovaries!! I feel great other that the vagina thing. I also take estratest full strength. I tell you I don't miss my uterus but sure my ovaries even though they were diseased little creatures they still made estrogen!!

Are you sure it's yeast? Did they do a culture? I had a horrible problem with yeast. Unfortunately after the first culture showed yeast they did not retest me and when my symtomps continued they just kept treating me for yeast. When I saw the NP at my docs office she did a culture, but said she thought the problem was lack of estrogen which had caused dryness and atrophy. I had horrible burning and itching. I am now using estrace cream, and taking an oral probiotic. The estrace cream burned at first, but has really helped the problem. The other thing I do is use a spray, I believe put out by the makers of monistat. It's a moisturizing spray, and it works great.
