Healing Or Not Healing Is The Question?
10 weeks. TAH/RSO.
Still tired. Ladies that are 10 weeks out, are you tired still?
Back to work. I lift alot at work. I work in a steel plant and lift steel that is over 40 and 50 pounds at a time. Have I done to much? Doctor says I should be healed and ok. What do you ladies think?
I lost 20 pounds, and in just a few days, I have gained over 10 pounds and looks like someone has inflated me with air. This has me worried.
My stomach is so sore to touch and the pain where my right ovary was, is starting to be so much. I am starting to think the pain on my right is not correct, but do not know what else to do.
I have had 2 urine cultures come back contaminated. Blood in urine and have took antibiotics. Doctor says it is a UTI. We are going to try and take another urine culture monday. I really do not know what to do it comes back contaminated again.
I am on the thin side. This past week I have had the swelly belly for really the first time since surgery. I am so swelled it is also the first time that I am not comfortable wearing my jeans or any pants. Is this normal?
I would think that 10 weeks out I would be feeling much better than this and I know my doctor, she is probably getting tired of me calling aleast once a week . I am not afraid of calling, but just dont feel right that I keep calling and they find nothing really wrong. I do not want to call again and make her see me and then say, it is just healing, I am ok.
What do you ladies think. Is this all apart of healing?
I do not know what is normal anymore. I am fed up with the ups and downs and feeling no better except AF is no longer with me.
So what do you think ladies. Am I fatigued from healing? Is there a underlining problem that we are not seeing? Please, any say so would help.

Healing Or Not Healing Is The Question?
IMO your body has told you it's not ready for what you've asked it to do, and it's telling you this in no uncertain terms. It sounds to me like the swelly belly you explain is caused by overworking your abdominal muscles that are now retaining all the water they can get while they heal. If it's possible for you to take some steps backward and restart pampering yourself, I think you should. It can take a year or longer until you're fully back to normal.
Hope you feel better soon.

Healing Or Not Healing Is The Question?
Dear Tweetie,
I am not a doctor but I thin it is a little premature for you to be lifting that much weight. I think you might bring that up to your doctor and tell her your complaints, they may be related, you will never know unless you ask. I would make the call just to be on the safe side. Good luck to you. Tami S. in Florida

Healing Or Not Healing Is The Question?
HI
I had my surgery a week after yours and there is no way that I'd be able to be back to a job like yours....lifting all that weight??? No way.
As far as your doctor getting "tired" of your phone calls.....have you considered the possibility of getting a second opinion, for no other reason than just a fresh perspective on your case? You should not have to go through your days feeling like this...........
take care of yourself,
Kate

Healing Or Not Healing Is The Question?
Thank you for your concerns and comments. Second opinion is something that I have been thinking about. My doctor is a great doctor. She has been through this from beginning to end with me. She is just not my gynecologist/surgeon, but a great friend. I wonder if because she is so close to this, that she is overlooking something else. You know when we are so close to something or someone and we do not see the bad because we just want the good.
I dont know, I am lost of this.

Healing Or Not Healing Is The Question?
I agree with the rest posted. It does not sound like you are completely healed. If you were, your'e body would not be feeling this way. My doctor also acts like I'm good to go , yet exam at six weekss hurt and said no sex for another month. Yet he doesn't put restcitions on taking care of my 2 and 3 year olds , cleaning etc. and then I pay a price! I am perplexed, certainly your Dr. know what you are doing at work. Please take of yourself.
Blessings, racine37

Healing Or Not Healing Is The Question?
I went back to work at 6 weeks post op....i was on weight restrictions for 2 weeks (20lbs) I started lifting 30-75lbs after my 8th week. My doctor seems to think this is fine and i will just be sore from doing it. I think i pulled something inside because i have alot of new pain now(both sides, ovary area). My husband and i discussed this and i have decided to quit my job and stay home until im totally healed. I am very fortunate to be able to do this but if its not possible for you then i would talk to your doctor and see about a longer time off or at least a weight restriction. I just dont see how (in my opinion) that this can be healthy for us. I think doctors are rushing us to fast. Please take care of yourself. To me its like when you get a cut on your finger...if you keep using it then it takes longer to heal. I felt like i kept reinjuring myself.
I will be so happy when this is over.
take care

Healing Or Not Healing Is The Question?

I have thought of a new job. Actually I am looking for another job. I believe that the lifting long term might do more harm than good. My doctor knows I lift and she told me to try it out and see what I thought. Lifting is ok, but the thought of straining and doing something to my insides I do not like. I am going to talk with my doctor about a longer leave or lifting restrictions.
For everything else, I hope we are not overlooking something. Again, I am getting ready to go again for another urine sample. I really do not know what is going on.
