Natural HRT versus conventional

Hi,
I am new to this site. I have been on the Vivelle dot patch and the .0375 is way too high, I get palpitations and feel like I had 5 expressos. The 0.25 is way too low. Any options please??? I don't want to have to take synthetic stuff... Is there something that is available on .030 that would probably work better...
HELP!!!!

I forgot to tell you that I was on a compound capsule and progesterone cream that seemed to work so much better. The Vivalle dot I started recently and have gone back and forth on many doses and types and it is making me very sick. I have tingling in my hands and have hypoglacemic symptoms

Need help figuring out the right dose of Vivelle

Hi, blumengold! to Hyster Sisters and the Hormone Jungle!

I hope you don't mind that I've started a new post for you. By having your own thread you'll get the support and input you want for your concerns.

When you tried the 0.025 dose, were you wearing it on your abdomen? If so, you could try wearing it on your rear. Absorption is around 20% better back there and it could be enough of a boost to balance you. If you've already tried that and the 0.0375 is too high, even when worn on your abdomen, you could cut off a small portion of the patch to lower the dose. Dot matrix patches such as Vivelle Dot can be cut and still be effective.

What symptoms do you have when you try the 0.0375 patch? You might want to print the too much/too little list and check off the symptoms you are experienceing. Also, it's helpful to keep a journal while you're working through the balancing process. It can help point out what tweaks are needed to get you feeling better.

Just out of curiosity, what was your reason for changing from the compounded capsule and progesterone cream? In the Jungle, we say "If it's not broken, don't fix it!"

We look forward to sharing with you in the Jungle! When you have a moment, it would be helpful if you would complete the short Member Survey. It helps us when making replies to know things such as if you have your ovaries or not. Here's a link to the Member Survey.

Need help figuring out the right dose of Vivelle

Thank you!!! I was very excited to see someone replied. I made the mistake of complaining about hotflashes. I switched doctors and the new doctor put me on the vivelle dot. It di dnot work for me. I tried all doses. Afterwards, I tried to get back to my original prescription but because I went back and forth on trying the patches. The compunding pharmacy refuses to get me back to what I was on. It is very frustrating. I have contacted another Compunding Pharmacy. I gave them the exact prescription I need and they came up with a totally different dose and now I feel even worse. I am back to the Vivelle dot just because it feels better. I contacted my former pharmacy and they have not responeded and I have a feeling they will not respond since we went back and forth on dosages.
I am feeling very tired, shaky and have anxiety like symptoms. All this started after I got off the first prescription, which I cannot get back to since the new doctor will not prescribe it again.
