Switching from bioidenticals to premarin

I have been on premarin .625 for three days now and my brain fog is gone and I am sleeping. I am actually having dreams which I haven't had in a very long time. When my ovaries quit working in 2002, my gyn wanted to start me on premarin. At that time I didn't want to be on anything that wasn't bioidentical. The WHI initiative had just come out and premarin was getting such a bad rap. So I have been on various forms of estradiol strengths since then. (estrace, climara, vivelle, estrogel, femring) Bloating, insomnia and foggy thinking have always been problems--also lack of motivation.

I feel so normal on this premarin--something I never wanted to try. I feel like someone has turned on the switch in my brain. I never felt like this on estradiol. When I had my annual last week, I asked my gyn what ert did most of his patients do the best on. He said everyone is different. It would make his job easier if there was the perfect hormone. I told him I had tried everything but premarin and the compounded stuff. So, he gave be two months worth of premarin to try.

Have any of you guys switched from bioidenticals to premarin and found you liked it better?

Switching from bioidenticals to premarin

Hi DWF. I love the idea of bio-identical hormones and the health benefits...but, honestly....if I found that bio-identical hormones werent working and Premarin did....I would switch to Premarin in a heartbeat!! In my book, life is not fun with menopausal symptoms. So happy that you have found something that works for you!

Switching from bioidenticals to premarin

I may be one of those switchog back if I can't get balanced. My last estradil was 30, way too low. I'm using Biest 80/20 and I called my docs office and told the nurse that I was having symptoms of excess estrogen, ie, shooting pains in my breasts, tingling in my breasts, bloating, and headaches, etc, yet my estradial was so low. However, we did not meausre my ESTRIOL which is mainly what I'm taking. So Tuesday I'm going in and they will measure it. Tomorrow I pick up the new script, Biest 50/50. I'm giving this a month or so, and if nothng gets better, I may either go back to estrace the pill or premarin. I'm tired of feeling crummy, and honestly, I feel pregnant.

Switching from bioidenticals to premarin

I've only been on premarin for six days now. The only side effect I've noticed has been some fluid retention. But, I seem to do that with all of the erts. I'm still sleeping well and my brain fog is gone. I don't feel ditzy anymore. I would love to know if anyone on this website has ever lost weight on premarin after switching from bioidenticals. Two friends I work with gained weight after switching from premarin to estradiol. They ended up switching back to premarin.

I am not on anything yet but curious-- Any princesses that love Premarin- did you tolerate the Birth control pill ever in your life? Just curious the connection and if the side effects are similar

I've often wondered if I would do better on Premarin, because I have'nt really done great on anything else quite frankly. I took the pill but that was a very long time ago. I tolerated it well for the four years I took it, but I was very young then.
