Post Op check up 3/13 - NERVOUS

Okay, all I can think about tomorrow's doctor visit is that he will be poking around in there and I am so nervous about that! I am still spotting (very minimal) and to me that means everything is NOT healed. So how is it a good idea to have a speculum inserted and someone poking around in there?!!?

I just had mine on Thursday, and it was quick and easy. My doc used a speculum, but of course it is sterile. It did not hurt. SHe did tell my my stitches had not quite healed yet, so I go back on two weeks. It was a way more comfortable visit than the usual exam. She did not need to palpate anything, just looked. The worse thing about the visit was the price of the parking, ha ha.

Good luck.

I know you're nervous about your appointment. I was, too. My doctor did do an internal at each of my post-op appointments only to take a peek to check my healing. I didn't experience any pain with any of the checks. Try not to worry. Your doctor will probably be very gentle if he does an internal. I hope it goes well!

I've got my 4 week check today. It's the first time I've seen the doctor since surgery. I am SO nervous! I've got that feeling like I'm about to lose a tampon, and I'm scared its a prolapse...
Dh keeps telling me not to worry.... but I am! My recovery has been incredible- home same day, no pain except from the spinal. I'm back to doing except ab exercise, heavy lifting and sex. Hoping it all goes well!

Just back from my appointment- everything is perfect!!!!! My doctor said that feeling I was afraid might be prolapse was pressure.. everything is firmly attached!
She could still see lots of purple stitches, so no ab exercises and no intercourse for at least another two weeks. I'm a bit tender after the exam, but took ibuprofen and I feel much better. Hope eveyone else's went/ goes as well.

Like crossfire said, maybe he will be gentle. If not, maybe your foot could slide out of the stirrup upside his head....whoops...sorry doc, reflexes ya know...giggle
Seriously...I dread it too. Good luck.

Happy Camper!

No internal exam! I am soooo happy about that. I dreaded it for nothing. He just looked at my incision site and we talked about HRT (I'm not doing that just yet) and he'll see me in 3 months.
