premarin cream

Hi Ladies,
I need some help. My doctor has prescribed Premarin cream to be used topically to help with dryness, itching, the usual side effects of a hysterectomy. I am trying to find some information on this cream but so far have come up empty and or confused by what I have found as it is mostly in medical terms. Has anyone out there used it? Liked it, hated it? I am allergic to the hormone patch, also have a kidney disease so I try to research everything first before I learn the hard way. Thanks for your help. D.

premarin cream

Dear icspots,
I am not sure if this is the same stuff you're talking about but I am currently using Premarin cream in applicator form to promote healing after my recent vaginoplasty and diagnostic laparoscopy. I had previously used the Premarin pills at 1.25 mg strength but had vaginal bleeding after my hysterectomy so it was discontinued. The Premarin cream I am currently using is .625 mg strength and I use it topically and internally for relief but mainly to promote healing properly. I have had no problems with the cream. I am actually quite impressed with it myself. I was not so happy taking the pills... at the time I still had my ovaries and at age 33, could not understand why I was needing the meds but at the ripe old age of 34 y/o and now without my ovaries (as of 3/6/06) I totally understand the need. I am having much less symptoms but am still emotional. I can say that the cream works for me. As far as the side effects, I can not say. Good luck to you nad i hope this info eases your mind a bit. Take care. Love...Tami S.

premarin cream

Hi I have also used Premarin cream for healing after a vaginal surgery. It works great! For longer term use I switched to bio-identical vaginal estrogens -- I've used a vaginal compounded estriol cream and Vagifem both with great results. My favorite for short term use is the Premarin cream; for longer term use, I love my Vagifem because it's very easy and convenient to use and there's no mess.

s,
-Linda

premarin cream

Thanks for the info, I greatly appreciate it. I have become an absolute basket case lately, can't seem to find the info I need, but did pick up the cream and am going to try it. Am I going to need to use this stuff for the rest of my life? I'm really hating this, hating the side effects of the surgery, today is one of the worst days I have had, can't stop crying and it's been 14 months. Emotional instability is an understatement!!!!!!!

premarin cream

I started the premarim cream because of severe vaginal dryness that caused bleeding with sex. I like the results but it makes me itch! It isn't bad now that I only use it a couple times a week instead of everyday like when I first started out. When this tube (at $69 I am not throwing it away) is gone I am switching to the vagifem tablet and see if that makes me itch! I use it internally and externally. Good luck.
