Report on Estrogen on Cognition, Mood & Degeneative Brain Diseases

Hi Ladies:
I found this excellent article on www.Medscape.com and it confirms what we already now. Estrogen does impact us in soooooo many ways. Now if the good Dr's would just recognize this more we'd be a lot better off.

I tried 4 times to key in the article site, but it keeps coming up wrong. So please go to:

http://www.Medscape.com/Home/network...armacists.html
Left hand side of page look for
Journal Room - click on this to go to
Scroll down until you come to
Journal of American Pharmaceutical Assoc - click on this to read
It'll take you to the next screen
March/April 2001 Article 41.2 - at top of page
click on this
Next Page - scroll down to "Women's xxxxx"
click on this
THIS IS THE ARTICLE

Sorry I coulden't get the article so all you'd have to do is click on this. It's really worth reading.

P.S. If you're not registered for Medscape it's easy to do. You may have to before you can read this.

It took some finding, but it's an extremely interesting article - especially the bit about memory impairment being directly related to hot flushes. It also answers a lot of questions about the connection between estrogen and the neurotransmitters (or lack of them) that are involved in depression.

Definitely worth reading.

Thanks, libradoll. Great article! I love Medscape. It pays to register with them (though they are technical). I was interested to see them confirm what we've been suspecting around here--that testosterone plays a role in mood and cognition as important as the one for libido.
