7 weeks post op and bleeding - is this normal

Hi everyone,

I am 7 weeks post op after TAH. After the op I did not bleed or have any vaginal discharge, yet 6 weeks on it started. It isnt a lot but it is enough to need a pad. Does anyone else have this and is it the norm? Where does it come from, as I gather the top of the vagina is now stitched up?

Hi Wendy
Did you have your final exam yet? There can be some bleeding when stitches dissolve, but it seems kind of late for that. It sounds a little suspicious to me. It could mean you have some granulation and need to have that treated.
Give your dr a call and let us know what you find out.

7 weeks post op and bleeding - is this normal

I am six weeks and the same thing happened to me. Two weeks ago my doctor treated me with silver nitrate to disolve the stiches and now I have to go back on Monday I've been bleeding since Thursday after I did an obscene amount of house work. I've also had some bad cramping to. I hope everything is ok with you I would call your doctor though. Like mine told me you shouldn't be bleeding now.
