2 weeks post-op.....still hurting

Every day I get up and think this will get better and it has gotten a little better. I have gone to the store several times with a girlfriend just to walk around and by the time I get back, I am hurting. My girlfriend fussed at me for trying to pick up a 12 pack of soft drinks. Is that bad? Just a 12 pack? I don't know, anyone else?

Sorry you are hurting. The first 3 weeks were the hardest for me and now I'm finally starting to feel more normal. I still have my ups and downs and it can be very discouraging.

It's just my opinion, but I would avoid lifting like that for a little while longer. A twelve pack is heavier than you think and also awkward to lift so it pulls on you. Traveling to the store and going out wear on you too.

At the end of week 3 felt like a turning point for me. Some see results sooner, some take longer. I hope you start feeling better soon! Remember to rest and take care of yourself!

2 weeks post-op.....still hurting

I will be at my 3 week point tomorrow - I feel pretty good - the worst thing for me is the swelly belly which to me in itself is uncomfortable. I have gone out on a few short outings and have been sort of worn out when I get home. I know that healing takes time so please be patient with yourself. I am still trying to get the courage up to drive (Dr ok'd this @2 wks, but I am somewhat apprehensive). I told myself that tomorrow will be the day as I have to start thinking about returning to work pretty soon.

I'm 10 days post op and I'm not supposed to get out for 2-3 more weeks. Also, no lifting over 5 lbs. I am sure a 12 pk is over 5 lbs. I couldn't pick up a 2 ltr right now.

The pain may mean you are doing too much. Take is easy. I so know it is boring. I feel stupid I can't do simple stuff or that I want to sleep so much. It's important for our bodies to heal. Hang in there!

I'm still quite sore at times too. I try to walk the dog every day, if I go to far, I get sore. I can do a little shopping, but again too much, and my body lets me know!. Feeling good though!
