Do I have a cyst?

I had my hysterectomy 3 years ago and have only one ovary and my cervix. I can never remember which ovary was left in, but I'm thinking it must be the right one. Recently I have been experiencing pain on the lower right side, kind of sporadically; and intercourse all of a sudden causes cramping afterward on the lower right side. I've heard a lot about cysts but don't know too much about them. I'm scheduled to see my OB/GYN in a few days. but was just wondering what the symptoms of a cyst are and how common they are after partial hysterectomy. Thanks!

I had a cyst that developed on my right ovary following a LAVH/LSO, and your symptoms sound pretty familiar to me. An ultra-sound will tell you if you do, in fact, have a cyst. My cyst was post-operative and never resolved. Following 8 months, I had it removed along with the right ovary. From what I understand, most cysts do resolve on their own and some women tend to get them monthly. Best of luck to you!

How soon after your surgery did you develop your cyst? I got one on my left ovary after my Tah back in May. Actually 4 weeks after my surgery, I had a cyst to appear. I just recently had the cyst removed on February 9th. That was about 6 weeks ago. I have been having symptoms lately that remind me of the cyst I just had. I wonder just how often a cyst will form after surgery. It seems like a lot from what I read on here. I also have wondered if my low back pain and side aches could be my kidneys instead of a cyst.
