Theme song for our situations....

So, as the rest of you, I've been holed up in my room bored to tears, sick of being tired, and just plain frustrated. I have a laptop and thought, ok, what I can I do aside from neopets. What about music? So I thought, what could be a themesong for this particular predicament?

I was one of those people that has a pretty high threshold for pain, yaaay, so I figured this would be no bid deal. WHAT WAS I THINKING? I have no idea what planet I got that from, I'm blaming aliens. Anyway, I have had to readjust my thinking and I came up with my theme song and downloaded it.

"It's gonna take some time this time", from the Carpenters. It cheers me up by reminding me not to expect so much. Anybody else have a theme song for themselves????

"I wanna hold your Hand" Beatles old one. My Mom told me she would be there holding my hand on Jan 3 before I went into surgery. She lived in the USA.I did feel her there. My Mom passed on March 1 with me and my 2 brothers and my daughter at her side. Now I still feel her presence. Mom's are like that. Cath

hey ilovedogs! no shoes, no shirt, no problem. so substitute shoes for slippers, and work for laying around being bored out of my gord. other than that, it's perfect!

cath-i feel your loss. my mom died 5 years ago. i have learned that they are always with us though. just sometimes we need to look for the quiet to be able to feel them. she's holding your hand now, you know. my mom has her hand on my cheek. love to you sweetheart. give yourself time, and hugs. heather

I relate to look for the quiet. When all is quiet in my soul is when I feel her the closest. Thanks, sorry about your Mom. They never go away though do they?

Theme song for our situations....

"High Hopes"- Sinatra! When I came out of recovery and into my room, my sister had bought this cute toy that has an ant on a "rubbertree plant" and you push a button and the plant and ant swiveled with the song playing: "Next time your found, with your chin on the ground
There a lot to be learned, so look around/Just what makes that little old ant/Think he’ll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can’t/Move a rubber tree plant/
But he’s got high hopes, he’s got high hopes
He’s got high apple pie, in the sky hopes/So any time your gettin’ low/’stead of lettin’ go/Just remember that ant"

Needless to say seeing this and hearing this in a drug induced "high" made me both smile and tear up. Now that toy is here at my house and whenever I am feeling a little blue, I push the button and watch that ant and tree boogie! It puts a HUGE smile on my face and I sing a-long!Silly, I know.......

Theme song for our situations....

Well, now that I am 8 weeks post-op and feeling so much better, I would go with 'I have been Blessed' by Martina McBride. I am so incredibly lucky that I no longer have to deal with cervical cancer, and I am blessed beyond words to have my daughters.

Now , right after surgery, that probably wouldn't have been my choice of song....I wasn't being very reflective then, though.

Good thread!

But hey,,,,its good now and the memory is fading of those very tough days. You have all been such a blessing. I love you all and come back to tell you it will be soon that you feel so much better....Hang in there, this is one of the challenges in life that make us better and make us women who are loving and caring towrds others, just listen to all the great people on this site....blessings patty
