Wow - possibly 12 weeks ... I did warn work at the time that it might be longer than 6 weeks if there are any complications, and my boss is fine with that as long as I have sick notes to cover me. It's me who doesn't want to be out that long! I know I'll go back to chaos - most of our big projects are coming to a close so I need to tidy up loose ends and I have a new team member to train up. Oh well - can't be helped.

I had 3 months off - 13 weeks actually as it worked out - and enjoyed the enforced rest and relaxation very much. I had TVH too, but it takes it out of you much more than you realise. Rememer you can't see the internal wounds, but they are there just the same....

The physio said to me that the internal healing takes an average of 12 weeks to heal and there's no way of knowing how you're doing. I'm glad I took the 12 weeks off even though originally I didn't want to.
Thanks for the offer of the hot tub company, Francine. I cannot see DH agreeing but I might try to catch him in a good mood- I don't have enough myself on part time teacher salary! Yes, I woke up early today so spent the time on here as I have to battle with DD in the evening. I get up fairly soon after 6 anyway, I leave at 7.30.
Have a lovely evening...

Hi Marion.
I have been in the garden today, I thought I'll sit in the sun because I look a bit pale, but you know me I can't sit still for long! I had to get up and do some jobs. I think I'll have to use false tan again (I find the spray tan the best as it doesn't streak) Its strange, when I was 16yrs old I would lie in the sun all day now I find it so boring!! I think as you get older your body gets older and your mind gets more active.
Talk soon everyone,
Francine xx

Hi All - This is nearing the end of my 12th week and today I feel like a fraud - I feel fine! Even dug up the dandelions though got fed up there were so many! Enjoyed the weather today and will do nothing but laze in the garden and read tomorrow. The weather is supposed to change on Friday so I'll get down to it more then - might do!!! I am going to make the most of this time because it will be full on again soon. Don't know how I'll fit it all in again it will be a right shock to the system. How did you do it???
Didn't anybody else have half the Sahara land on them????

summerscoming, I felt just like you did towards the end of my enforced rest. But I was glad afterwards, it was still a shock going back to work. I thought I'd just walk in and carry on as usual but no... and I work three days each week! So enjoy!
No we haven't had the Sahara falling on us thank goodness. It's been sunny and lovely down here and not sandy at all. Each morning for work I've resisted cropped trousers and then wished I'd worn them!
Happy Thursday all.

I presume you mean all the sand in the rain? Yes we got it, I have had to wash our garden furniture and wipe the outside windows.
Enjoy the sunny weather everyone, it will be gone by the weekend (so the weatherman says)

Hello everyone,
I didn't get chance to log on yesterday at all, then today I'd replied to one message & a friend turned up - so I've just been catching up on all your news. We haven't had any sand over here but I heard something mentioned on the news.
The weather has been fantastic & it's lovely to get outside & enjoy the sunshine. I had my back garden completely re-done in January 2005, Marion, & I didn't really get chance to enjoy it last year as I had to start from scratch with planting. However, I put in lots of perennials & am now reaping the benefit as they're just starting to flower - I still need to add some more plants to fill the gaps but I'm growing lots from seed so hopefully it won't cost too much. However, like you Dawn, my front "lawn" (which is a tiny triangle) is covered in dandelions again - I need to get some weed & feed treatment on it I think.
Yesterday 2 work colleagues came to see me & brought chicken & salad with them, so we dusted down my garden furniture & sat outside for lunch. We had a good natter although I was disappointed that there was no gossip! I did feel sorry for them having to go back to work instead of being able to enjoy the good weather. Then my sister came to take me to their house for tea -so I didn't have to do any cooking at all yesterday, which was great!
Thanks for the advice on the sick note Dawn - yes I know for a fact that my gp has my discharge letter as the ward sister gave me it to me when I left the hospital for me to pass on. Now I'm getting nervous about my post-op because I don't find my consultant easy to talk to & I have a list of questions to ask. I'm hoping that I might see his lovely registrar instead as he was far more approachable & understanding - and he's my best friend too as he said that I was "only young". Before my op, I told my sister that it was her duty to find out if he was single & did home visits afterwards!! Now she reckons I'm setting myself up for another disappointment if he's not there next week - I had hoped he would see me in hospital but he was on a different ward - shucks! Oh well, we shall see...

Hi Everyone,
Doctors can be the worst partners ( sorry if that has offended anyone but I am only speaking from personal experience) you can have, no, I shouldn't say that everyone is different arn't they?
Hope everyone is well, I am very well and enjoying this lovely weather. The only trouble is that yesterday clouds of greenfly invaded my garden! I had to rush round with a bug gun, it was my plants or the greenfly and my plants won. I also have trouble with Ants, does anyone else?
Bye for now
Francine xx

Hello all,
Another lovely here in Surrey but I understand it'll rain tomorrow?
DD has her Art A level next week and then time to revise for the other two. This is such a stressful time, worse than I was sitting them!
Hoping you're all well. A friend of mine has just had a minor op on her back passage- very routine but she now has a tear and will be off work for some time. It hurts a lot. She should have been back the middle of last week! It could now be up to two months off! Almost like a hyst but she is in more pain than I was. I saw her today and all she can do is lie down.
Best wishes all
Marion xxx
