back, hip pain chronic

I am sure doctors are wrong.. I do not have a bad back, it is something else. When My back is at a bad stage, other things are going on, like increased appetite, fatique, indigestion, sorta PMS stuff. I had an MRI which showed nothign in my back, but when I mention a possible link with hormones, etc. they look right thru me. So I am taking the responsibility myself and researching myself. A long process. I have been diagnosed with adenomyosis 2 yrs ago, had a D&C and was better for awhile. But last year, lots of back pain, but not stomach pain and alot of other things people complain about. At 48, the uterus could go, but what if I am wrong and go thru all that for nothing? Does anyone here have sciatica, etc ? What is the connection if any? Thanks Robyn

back, hip pain chronic

Hi Robyn,
I have the chronic back pain, lower by the tailbone for 2-3 weeks out of the month.
I was treated for endometriosis last summer, symptoms are back.
They want to remove my uterus also. My doc says it is enlarged, I am done having children so why not?
I am sure that is most of my problem. Is your back pain constant or do you tend to get increased discomfort before your cycle?
Endo can be painful all the time. It makes it hard to get comfortable at night and drags you out during the day!
Good luck, let me know how you are feeling.

well, I too had to go thru all kinds of strange tests...come to find out my dr too, had misuderstood me...I said" I have massive pain in lower back and my thighs from ab cramps" he took it as I thought i might have a problem with my back??? huh?
After much deliberation we decided to go ahead with the hysterectomy and im 3 wks post and havent felt so good(still tired alot) in 3 yrs!!
I too had ADENMYOMIS(sp?) and he said it (uteris) was very swollen. but its all gone!!! yeah...I do still have my ovariies...still sleeping...but waking up more and more everyday!

If your done having Kids, its something to consider
Just make sure your fully informed before you make all decesions!!! GOOD luck!!!

back, hip pain chronic

Wow that was my situation also with the back legs and hip pain. I had injured my back 3 years ago, so I knew that this felt different. The pressure with this came from inside, with the back it seemed to be more concentrated on the outside if that makes any sense. Since my surgery I don't have that pressure ache.

yes, sciatica here

I have the hip (left hip) sciatica and chronic back pain that sometimes radiates down to the thighs with cramps or shoots down the left leg.

Definitely worse pre-period and during period. Sometimes I know my period is coming just because the back and hip start aching so much I feel I'll never stand up straight again!

Looking forward to losing some of that pain after my TAH.

similar back problems

I too have back problems. It seems that when it is that time again I have the same type of low back and pelvic pain that I had when I was in labor.

I have been to chiropractors, orthopedics and neurologists. I too have had MRI and also Milegrams. I do have a deginerating disc but it is not so severe. Some people experience higher levels of pain than others. Sometimes when I have the inflamation nerves get "pinched" and the pain is worse. It is interesting that when I am PMSing the pain is more severe than at other times.

I believe there is a link but I have yet to get someone to accept the link.

Good luck to you! I can feel for you!

back, hip pain chronic

I wrecked my back out at the L4/L5 vertibre, bulged but not ruptured and after a LOOONG MRI the nerosurgeon decided I was better off with physical therapy than surgery. Can't sleep on my back without having my legs propped with a pillow. That was last year...pretty much constant and increasing discomfort, especially around the time of my periods when I would have shooting pains down both legs and pain down my tailbone. Never linked the fact that my periods were so awful until I was diagnosed with the fibroids. I'm wondering if my "back" pain will get better now that I don't have my fibroid filled uterous pressing on the nerves? Has anyone else had this problem - and how did it turn out?

I also have a lot of back pain, cramps down my thighs, pain in the groin...a lot like labor pains. I wonder how many of these symptoms will go away with the surgery. I guess I'll know after 5/18. I've had two laps (10 yrs. apart), but have only been diagnosed with a small fibroid. I really think I have adeno. and I guess will also know that after the 18th.

Good luck
