Unhappy - Dropped Bladder/Osteoporosis/Exercise Dropped Bladder/Osteoporosis/Exercise

Hi! 28 years old with a hysterectomy and now dropped bladder at a stage one going into a stage two. I have been told I am not to strain at all when I go to the bathroom either with my IBS or I am going to have a rectocele. I am shocked that I don't already have one because when my bladder hurts so does my, um, well other stuff.

I am a prime candidate for osteoporosis - petite, thin, white female with a family history. My hips already pop in and out of place so needless to say my family is very concerned for me.

What do all of you do for exercise that doesn't hurt? What can I do that will strengthen muscles, but also build bone density without landing me in the hospital to have even more surgery? Ater awhile do the pelvic floor muscles strengthen to the exercise and stop hurting or if it hurts and I keep going am I simply going to hurt myself. I am very worried. Help!

In Him,
Johanna

More info

I should add that it has been a year since my hysterectomy. A week ago I took a bin in of clothes to one of those resale shops. By the time I got it in then back out to the car (they didn't ant any of it. i am so unfashionable. : ) ) I was hurting from my bum-hole all the way to my cystocele. I could feel the pressure and pain in both areas. I didn't think it was more than 30 pounds. Myabe it was the weight distribution? Anyway, this is what I feel if I am too active with trying to get things done with a 4 year old and 25 pound 1 year old (which I have no idea how I am going to lift her very shortly. I am already not being able to hold her a lot of the time.) frequently. I immediately went to Goodwill to donate the clothes, came home, placed a pizza in the oven, and spent the rest of the evening laying on the couch. I told my hubby I really need him and that we will not be bringing in money by selling old clothes like a friend at church does. I just feel so restricted. Is this normal? Any of this? What can I do in reference to my first post? Help!

In Him,
Johanna

Dropped Bladder/Osteoporosis/Exercise

(((Johanna)))) I'm so sorry you're dealing with all of this at such a young age

I had my in December 2000 due to a large, pesky fibroid and to a Stage III Rectocele. I remember just how uncomfortable even walking could be

Since my hyst, I've been dealing with an increasing incontinence problem. My urologyst referred me for Pelvic Therapy. This involved monitoring pelvic floor movements and stimulating contractions through the use of biofeedback technology. You may be interested in having a referral for this type of therapy: not only would the therapy itself be beneficial, the therapist would also be in a good position to recommend exercises that would both help you and would not worsen the cystocele.

Your doctor would also be able to provide information on the best exercises to present osteoporosis and to strengthten the pelvic floor.

Sending lots and lots of s your way. I hope you find answers soon.

I think you do need to talk to your doctor about Physical Therapy. I saw a PT for pelvic floor issues and it was a big help to me. I also started taking gentle Yoga a year ago and it has helped me with strengthening and balance. It can help your bones too. You should talk to your doctor before doing any kind of exercise though. Good Luck & Take Care.
