Ace Wrap?

I am 3 weeks post op and am doing very well other than this swelly belly thing. I swell so much so easily. After about 1 hr of being up I am feeling the swelling and it puts so much pressure on my incision (low pubic area incision--I think they call it a bikini cut).

I live in a small town so am not able to get to a Walmart to get the support briefs mentioned. I have a wide Ace bandage and wrapped it around my swelly belly.....it feels so good!

Has anyone else used an Ace bandage? Are there any dangers or precautions? Does use of an Ace bandage or
support panties weaken muscles or prevent/discourage the strengthening of the abs?

i used an ace bandage also. boy it sure helped. i could wear pants that buttoned! i took it off when i got home from my errands though. be sure to let your incision breath alot though, and don't wrap it too tight. just cover it. heather

I too used the ace bandage for about 3 weeks. I thought it helped tremendously! I am 7 weeks out tomorrow and I sometimes still get the swelly belly but nothing like it was before! I thought it actually kept the swelling down in that area. It didn't hurt me but you might ask your doctor just to be on the safe side!
