Good News, got lab test back today!

I am so happy. I got my pap and biopsy results back today. The pap showed I have regressed from CIN1 back to ASCUS and my biopsy was negative where before it showed LSIL also my HPV Tests still say negative for high-grade. So I was right in waiting for another 3 months instead of going through with the hysterectomy like my doctor had recommended. I am so glad i was agressive with my health care and didn't buckle to the pressure of a doctor pushing the hysterectomy. He still wants to do a LEEP to make sure all bad cells are removed. I feel good about doing the LEEP. I don't want this to come back and start to progress to Dysplasia again. But a LEEP is far less invasive than a hysterectomy. Just think, if i hadn't listened to my gut feeling, i would be recouperating from a unnecessary hysterectomy right now. Instead i am seeing improvement and only facing a LEEP now. It sure pays to take an active roll in your own health care. Listen to the doctors, yes, but also do some research on your own to see if you have other options or if they are recommending the best option for you. I will schedule my LEEP in a week or so and then i can put this behind me. Sure, i have to do follow up paps every 3 months for a year but that is a small price to pay. I am so happy!

Thanks for everyone's support and guidance through this whole scary ordeal. This site really was a god-send.

It does really pay to do your homework and research your best options.
