prayers for my Dad

I am travelling to see my Dad tomorrow for what I fear will be the last time.

He has had a very rough three years with various physical and mental problems, some serious, some less so. He has been living in a home and has not had a very good quality of life recently.

I think he is just tired out and ready to go. My mom has told the hospital "no further treatment" so I am unsure what will happen now or how long he has. Perhaps he'll surprise us.

He is a good, kind and caring father and was also a wonderful doctor who helped many people in his lifetime. Please pray for him.

I've never faced anything like this before and I'm not sure what to expect. It's been an unbelievably bad year - if you could append a little prayer for me as well that would be lovely. Help me to be strong for my Dad and Mom.

shegeek, I lost my dad last year to cancer so I can sympathize with your position. I will pray for you and your dad. My dad was a good and helpful man also. I miss him terribly. But it was his time, even though he was only 64. I do not blame God, these things happen. I am not overly religious, but consider myself very spiritual. I try to follow Jesus and His plan for me. It's a hard and stressful time and I've been there. It's sad to let those we love go. But we have to be grateful that when they leave, they are now at peace. Even if he is unable to communicate with you, hold his hand, give him your love, and know that he loves you. Hopefully he can stay with you longer.

I am sorry to say my dad passed Thursday night before I could get back to him. He knew I was on my way though, I hope that gave him comfort.

I am happy that he is no longer suffering but of course I miss him already.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. I will be praying for you and your family during this rough time of loss.
