Smile - Tuesday, 11 April Tuesday, 11 April

Morning!

It looks a lovely day here again today, but still really cold. I'm awake early, thanks to my bladder.

This house is full of furniture, thankfully this weekend, DH will be home, and helping me to sort things out, the dogs have their very own settee at the moment! (spoiled or what?)

Breakfast ~ 2 bananas and a yoghurt
Lunch ~ sandwich
Dinner ~ cumberland pie with a few veggies

The washing machine man is coming today, between 2-3 or after 3.30. I will be leaving a note on the door to let him know! Hopefully, he'll be able to fix it quickly and cheaply

Marianni, and yes, our kids don't break up until thursday pm, and go back 2 may, after BH. The bishop made us observe the events leading up to easter, as we are in a catholic school, which put us out of synch with the rest of the county's schools, but it seems that they all observe easter and are off after now as well.

Right, I'm off for a leisurely

Have a great day, folks!

Hi there and thanks for welcoming me!

Ate really healthily yesterday but feel so bloated today. Not sure why- porridge, wholemeal bread sandwich with salad, fruit, dinner was chicken piece and veggies. Oh and lots of water to drink too.

Even went to the gym- somehow I feel the extra pounds should have come off in one virtuous go!!!!! I am going to try to get there two or three times a week, not too bad at the moment but back to school will make that harder.

Not so sunny here today just looks a bit grey and miserable but at least not wet-yet.

Hair cut this morning so maybe I'll feel a bit more human after that.

Hi Fran & Marianni...

Yesterday wasn't soooo bad... I feel that I'm making some strides to curb my carb intake. Today should be even better as I did a light food shopping yesterday picking up fruits & veggies. I'll be doing my regular food shop tomorrow after I decide what to have for Easter.

I did get to the gym yesterday... and it was a mix -- 20 mins on elliptical... floor exercises... 10 minutes on the treadmill... and then upper body workout. I'm planning on getting there 4-5 times this week. Won't make it there today as we have a chiropractor appt scheduled... should be interesting.

Fran... hope it's nothing major with your washing machine -- here in the US, the school kids only get one week off for Spring break... really interesting the differences.

Marianni... welcome aboard!!

Nancy... we're (well actually DH) is doing the same thing... cleaning the garage out & reclaiming it. A wine cellar... how cool.

Melissa... love a good bargain & the Berlin market... but usually go to Columbus for my "finds"... hope you take some time out for yourself...

Llyn... great idea getting a walk in during your lunch time... I'm going to pack my sneakers now so I can follow your good example.

Sharon... how did you weather those storms that blew through this past weekend??

Well... gotta get this day going. Here's to doing out BEST... tata

Good Morning Everyone!

Hi Fran, Marianni, Sue, Margo and everyone else yet to post. Any Hi to the Lurkers...We're missing all of you.

Today I'm off for my first Physical Therapy appointment for my tendonitis in my elbow. I'm really hoping that it helps.
Then more yard work while the weather is so nice. I'm going to try to squeeze Curves in on the way home from PT, but I don't know how long I'll be there today, so I'll wait and see on that. My Curves is closed Friday and Saturday this week due to Easter break (most folks in this town fold up and go away because they have a week off). So I've got to get my 3 times in without using Friday. I went yesterday, so I'm hoping I can get in there today too.
Food is improving both in what I'm eating and how much I'm eating. Last week when I was sick, I was eating all my old bad comfort foods and I have to get out of that habit again. That would be way too easy to start enjoying regularly again.

I'll try to check back in later today.
Have a BEST OP day everyone!

HELLO! I hope everyone is having a good day. I'm back after being gone for a few days and trying to get caught up on the post. We went camping on Thursday and stayed one night. It was beautiful there, the temps were warm. We went 4 wheeling and had a good time. We were told there was an 80% chance of rain for Friday pm so we left about 5pm. It was so beautiful when we left, hard to imagine how the weather would turn so nasty. We got out in time, thanks for asking Sue! That storm blew right threw that area and would have been nasty in a tent. Sat: DH and I were looking for a recliner. His died on Saturday morning! you know that's critical with a man!!! So he found a nice one at a really good price. Sun: early Easter with my Mom and family. Easter will be spent with my Dad.
Food has been fair. Sometimes it's been really hard. Hurting my back really hurt me exercise wise. When you can't exercise and you're used to doing it, you feel like a bum, a slug or something. Know what I mean? WW will be tonite and I will go. I missed last week, just didnt want to deal with it. Today I've had fruit salad a WW meal, and a special k bar, total in WW land 6 pts.
. I won't have much of anything else b4 weigh in. Going to see the school counselor today to get DD registered for school. She's ready to go back, tired of being home with me. She's done a great job. We never were able to master algebra, other than that, she's finished with everything else. I have a job interview with a teacher at the school system on Thursday, I am nervous about that. I havent been interviewed for a job since 1988. I've been working at home since 1991. So we shall see! That's about all that's going on with me. I hope you are all well and getting your water in. Welcome to all of the new folks, glad you are here with us.
Melissa, thanks for the water info. sharon

Hi, everyone,

We got back home on Friday, so now I'm getting caught up again. We decided to put some rental property on the market, so spent a lot of time today with the realtors. I did get back to my home Curves yesterday and today, so that always feels good, and was pleased to step on the scale and find out that I had lost one more pound while traveling. Now my total is 18 since the new year. We can do it . . .slowly and steadily.

The weather here has been gorgeous the last few days. Isn't spring wonderful? Tomorrow DD comes home from college for a few days - we love having her around. I wish you all a great day tomorrow and a happy Easter!

Hi Everyone,

Walking at lunchtime seems to be a good idea. I tend to poop out in the afternoon & is giving me some energy for the rest of the day.

Food was decent today. Waffles, fruit and a small brownie during the day. Baked fish with mushrooms & onions & a baked potato for dinner.

good luck with the job interview on Thursday Sharon. to everyone.

I'm going to bed early tonight All the fresh air in the house has made me sleepy.

Take care,
:superman: Llyn

Late Night Check In

Everyone one sounds like they had a good day today. It was a nice day here. Wish it would warm up just a bit however. I had my annual boob squish today. Seems that my weight loss showed up in my boobs? Not that they are smaller, errrrr well actually they are, , but that there were INTERIOR skin folds? Who knew? They had to resquish the right side twice more. But I have to say it wasn't bad. It was one of the most comfortable ones I've ever had, if you can call them comfortable.

Food....well, it could have been better.
Bkft: 1 scrambled egg w/mushrooms, home fries, and a slice of bacon. Hot tea
Lunch: 1 small whole wheat roll w/1 slice of low salt ham & low salt swiss cheese, iced tea.
Dinner: soft taco's w/the 40% less salt taco seasoning packet & side salad made it nice.
I've wanted to munch all evening. Had trail mix - but that wasn't satisfying. So just had a small cup of raisin bran cereal w/1%milk.

Another day of being busy. County Court House, then Town Hall, home to shop for airfares to Hawaii on-line, then follow DH to drop off truck for repairs, home to dinner then out to DD's appt w/psychologist. I wish these appt's would go every 3 weeks now instead of every 2....gets old and expensive. But it's good for her right now so I'll deal with it.

*Sharon - your welcome! Glad you wern't in the bad weather.
*Sue - how's the chiropractor go? Did you like him/her? How's the pillow?
*Nancy - a word of caution. The motions your hands/wrists/elbows go thru using the machines at Curves just may aggrivate your tendonitis. Take care - ask the PT person about it. I was not allowed to use hand ANY hand weights this time, where as before during tx w/old ortho doc the occupational therapist said it was OK as long as it didn't hurt. This new doc says NO WAY! At least not for now. But then I have something slightly different than you do.
*Hi's to LindaRenee, Margo, and Llyn

OK - off to look for airfares once more, then if no good deals will have to call sis in Hawaii and say thanks but no thanks. Such a deal, it breaks my heart to turn it down. She offered me (and my girlfriends) the beach house at her bosses again for an entire week for $200.00!! But the airfare is so stiff that added with renting a car, buying our own food (the place has a cute little kitchen), and "sightseeing" the cost of airfare from the east coast just knocks it out of reach. We can take a crusie or get an all inclusive for 5 days in Mexico for the airfare to Hawaii alone. Darned oil prices!!! Crippling my vacation plans!!
