feeling a strange calm does anyone else feel this way
Hi all,
As my op gets nearer i feel a strange sort of calm as it was ment to be, the more people i speak to and read about it seems that once you get over the op it is well worth it , mine is set for 1 week today 4/18 im not sure why my date reads 2/19 at the top of my post maybe that was my date of op when the stents were put in to take pressure of my kidneys ,My uroligist wanted to high light the ureas to the surgeon ,both will be there at op,after fighting with insurance company who wanted to remove stents day after ,i didnt think i would be feeling well enough, had to make a song and dance about it but got there in the end, as i have to pay myself for the hysterectomy as they have excluded fibroid treatment after work was done before, and my husband changed jobs then returned to same company. its all a bit complicated really when you could do without it. this site has helped a lot we dont seem to have one as good here in the uk so i hope you dont mine i have borrowed yours, I have my pre op today also,it would be nice to here some of your comments.
Laineymags.

feeling a strange calm does anyone else feel this way
I felt very calm when I knew of my hsyt. I think it was because I sort of knew it going to be recommended- I had tried some things and read about others which I knew weren't likely to suit my problems. So you are not alone.
Best wishes for next week

I agree there are no goods sites in the UK like here.
I hope everything goes well with your op and you have a quick recovery.

feeling a strange calm does anyone else feel this way
Awwwh ... guys ... there are a couple of good sites in the UK ... I found them very helpful ... but they don't have the membership that one in the States would have.
I was very calm before my surgery ... frankly, I couldn't wait to get it over with ... I was so looking forward to the good times ahead. I even slept the night before, as usual!
Wishing you all the best with your surgery ... you'll be fine. I'll be thinking of you.
Hi again marianni ... we should stop meeting like this!

Hi Laineymags! You are very welcome here! I think its great that we have women from all over the world. Its interesting to see the different health care systems. And no matter where we come from, we're all women with woman problems and need a shoulder now and again.
Glad to hear that you are feeling so calm. You know its the right decision for you.
Take care,

Hi Laineymags,
Good luck in your pre-op today. My date was 4/26 and I was getting very anxious...then the date got pushed back 3 weeks and I am now calm again! Glad you were able to find this sight. I really don't think it much matters where you are from, it's here when we need it. The funny thing is that I found hystersisters through the Hysterectomy Association website in the U.K.!

Laineymags,
I finally reached "saturation" point today about noon. This calm feeling is the best I have felt in a month. Good Luck to you.

Hi Laineymags,
If you click on "Control Panel" at the top of the page, and then click on "edit profile", then you will be able to correct your Hysterectomy date. It will also help you get the right support when you need it.
Best wishes for your surgery and recovery.
 S,
Kay

feeling a strange calm does anyone else feel this way
I saw my doc for my 4 week post op today and told her I was amazed at my fast and uneventful recovery - she told me that in years past many hysts were done unnecessarily but now that is different. She reminded me that she had been begging me to do this for 2 years - that for 2 years it was a necessity for me and by not doing it until now I had suffered a few problems. She told me in her experience the women who need it most recover very well (complications notwithstanding). I am just over 4 weeks and started back to work from home at 2 days post op. I feel so good and my life is mine again! I am a stupid American but I do believe this is universal - best of luck to you and just think positive!
