Did way too much this weekend

Well I think I over did it. Friday night was feeling very frisky so DBF and I tried outercourse. Felt great everything working good but was very sore after. Then Sat went grocery shopping. I did get a motorized cart which helped but it ws about an 1 1/2 outing. Sunday went to my parents for Easter and my daughter returned from her 2 week stay at her other Grandma's. At my parents I started feeling nauseaus and really hot, not sweating, like feverish. I felt this way for about 3 hours. I was on an macrobid for a possible bladder infection and I took the last of those the day before. By the time I got home in the early evening my abdomin was very sore, didn't help that I ran out of Percocet again and was taking Vicodin which don't work as well. I also kept felling like my bladder was full and I had to go. I had a temp ranging from 99.4 to 100.1 last night. This morning I feel a little better but my temp is still 99.4 and I am still uncomfortable. I am just waiting for my doctors office to open at 9:00. I hope they won't make me come in because I have no one to drive me. Everyone is at work. I hope having outercourse didn't cause this. He did some clitorial simulation but we also did "dry humping" but he was very careful not to touch my incision. I am just afraid that maybe ogazisming (sp) was too much.

Slow down girl!

Stay off your feet today, give everything a chance to settle down in there. Keep an eye on that fever and a call to your dr's office wouldn't hurt....

I also overdid it this weekend. No sexual relations for me, but I did host an Easter dinner for 12 people Saturday night.. yeesh. I spent the day in my recliner yesterday!

Did way too much this weekend

I honestly don't know how you guys are doing so much. I went to a dinner at my mother's and I had to leave early because I was hurting so much and my fiance cooked all the dishes that we took. Yesterday was the first day that I had been out of the house since my surgery. I planted some flowers a few days ago and was hurting so bad from that, that I slept almost the whole next day. I am usually a very sexual person but the pain has kept sex the furthest thing from my mind. I do want to have that closeness but I'm still having occasional discharge and my incision is much bigger than I thought it would be. I'm still having trouble getting up from the couch or the bed. I wonder after reading both of ya'll posts if I'm healing properly. I would never even attempt to host a dinner, go shopping or have sex. Now I'm scared that I'm not running on schedule.

30andscared, Believe I am not doing much either. Friday was the first day I went for a walk and the trip to the grocery store totally wore me out and I was riding around in one of those motorized carts. On Easter, I had to leave the table and go lay down for about 3 hours because I didn't feel well. As far as messing around sexually, it just kinda happened. We were snuggling watching a moving and start kissing and youknow one thing led to another. I am still talking percocet every 6 hours because of pain and tire very easily. I am going to lay around all day today unless I end up having to go into my doctor which I hope I won't. I am feeling better compared to yesterday but far from being able to be that active.

Did way too much this weekend

Well everyone tells me that when I start to feel good to not do anything because it's not time. I really haven't had that much time when I feel good. I was on Dilauted for the first week and now I'm taking two Lortabs every four hours plus Phenergren (sp). I can really tell when it's close to time to take my medicine cause the pain gets worse. The Lortab doesn't really help like the Dilauted but my doc is two hours away and she can't call in a prescription for that medicine or even Percocet. I really think I need something stronger but I'm not scheduled to go back to the doctor until this Friday. Maybe by then I'll feel better. I really am trying to be an optimist about all of this but I don't think I was prepared for all the pain involved. I just wish I knew that everything was healing ok. Does anyone have any idea what they will do during my follow-up appt with the doctor? What kind of examination? I'm a little scared about it.

Cosmichick, be sure and check with your dr this morning if you are still running fever.
30andscared, please don't compare yourself to the other ladies, we all heal differently and at different paces. Listen to your body, it will let you know when you are over doing it. I hope that you all get to feeling better soon. I am sending lots of Carol

Did way too much this weekend

Just got off the phone with the doctors and they think that the macrobid didn't completely get rid of my bladder infection so they called in Keflex instead. He wrote a script for Percocet so one of my friends is going to come over later and take me to pick it up and go to the pharmacy.

30andscared- I am also in Kentucky! I had my surgery on March 8th. For my check-up, it was like a pap smear. I was really scared but it wasn't that bad. It was a little uncomfortable. That is how she checked the incisions. Then she just answered questions. I don't go back for my 6 week till next Tues.
I have not recovered that quickly either. I went to Walmart for the first time this weekend and I was miserable. I still hurt daily but am just taking Aleve for the pain. Although I have to say I am really worried about going back to work because I don't feel ready for it yet. Everyone recovers differently. I think I am slow to recover so I may need more time off.
I hope all goes well for you!

I have a question, CosmicChick (and all other Sisters, too) -

In your first post you said you were on something for a "possible" bladder infection. In a followup post you stated your doctor didn't think the first Rx completely got rid of the bladder infection. Did the doctor ever do a urinalysis to see if there was in fact an infection?

I've read many posts where postop ladies state their doctors "think" they may have a bladder infection and the doctors call in prescriptions without ever testing for a UTI. Why is this? With all the drugs we are given for surgery, including anesthesia, as well as the postop drugs, to add yet another drug to the list without even knowing if there is in fact an infection seems to be not of good practice, does it? Every drug has side effects - why take it before knowing if you even need it? I'm not picking on YOU, Cosmicchick - quite the contrary! It just made me wonder why I've seen so many posts on this site relating to this. Is this standard practice?

While in the hospital, I had those inflatable leg things on and after 12 hours they were causing extreme itching. The nurse offered up Benadryl, but I declined. She read my mind when she said, "Are you trying to give your liver a rest from all the meds?"

I hope you are feeling better, Cosmicchick. Even when you do start to feel really good, and you will, don't give into temptation to re-landscape the yard and paint the house! Feel good for a while, then add activities gradually. Keep us posted, will ya?
