Question - post-op sever pubis pressure/pain, groin hip and leg pain--guesses needed post-op sever pubis pressure/pain, groin hip and leg pain--guesses needed

Hello ladies, I am new here and have a few questions if anyone has any ideas please post. I will try to give a history. I am 35 and married for 10 years. Am trying to get pregnant but no luck thus far.

Lapascopic surgery in June 2004 for endometreosis, surgery went well.

Oct. 2005 lapascopic surgery for right sided abd. pain removed gallbladder. No complications, but no relief.

Nov. 2005 Began having severe pelvic pain, ovary pain.
Ovarian cyst and fibroid.

Dec. 2005 lapascopic surgery. Once in found cyst to be too large and endo too severe so surgery postponed.

March 2006 laparotomy. Removal of cyst on right ovary, fibroid, and oblation of endo (except for some on bowel) left ovary found to be polycystic. No complications.

March 2006 started clomid treatments. April 3rd 10 day ultrasound found overstimulation of right ovary with cyst, no response from left.

Seen 2 days later (April 6th) for severe right pelvic pain cyst doubled in size. Decision for wait and watch. Pain all but went away by the weekend. But Tuesday (April 11th) morning BAM unbareable pain.

April 12th still in severe pain and back to gyn again, he sent me to get a higher quaility US and that showed cyst had now boubled again and no blood flow to right ovary, probable torsion. Emergency surgery that evening, removal of the right ovary, it was twisted, died, not to be gross and rotted. Released April 14th home

April 14th ended up in ED due to my incisioin opening. Sutures and back home.

OK this is my question for about 4 days now I have extreme pressure and pain to my pubis and it is quite swollen (feels as if it could explode any moment). Pain to my left groin area and a sickening contracting feeling (like when the elastic of your underware cuts off blood supply), Knife like stabbing pain to my left flank area just above the hip when I walk or twist at all, also pain to inner left thight that radiates to the knee. Numbness to left pubis and left inner thigh (I excpeted this). My incision line looks great.

Has anyone had this happen post op? Any advise or personal expereances would be great.

Thanks. Ditchmd

I know how you feel. I have been experiencing pain in my upper left thigh right along the underwear line. It doesn't effect me if I am walking, getting up from sitting or getting down. When I turn over the pain is like a burning sensation and is quite intense. Has anybody experienced this before and will it soon get better. I have been icing the area with cold packs and taking advil to help with the swelling. It seems to be not to bad during the day but at night its just awful. I had a full hyster on April 3. Has anybody else experienced this and is there a light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi, I'm new to this site as well, and this is my first posting. I had a Vaginal Hysterectomy, Cystocele w/sling, and Rectocele. I had the same pain within the first week. I was told I was getting used to the sling. I continued to have that pain until week 4 when the Dr. said it sounds like a UTI infection. I didn't have the classic symptoms. Just the type of pain you describe other than for me it was uncomfortable to urinate. The doctor put me on antibiotics and within two days I felt so much better. I am not a doctor, but it would be worth checking out. I had no idea the type of pain I was feeling was remotely related to the bladder. After he suggested a bladder infection, I went online and looked at the symptoms of one. They definately were symptoms that I wasn't aware of. I hope you figure out what it is. Goodluck.
