Incision Open at 7 weeks...

I am at 7 weeks and was due today for my 6 week check up (Easter pushed it back a week cause dr. office was closed). Anyway on Monday 2 inches of my incision opened. I went to another guy in for my regular doctor and he said it went all the way down to the muscle wall and probably there was an air pocket that filled with fluid, keeping it from healing and that is what eventually opened the incision. It bled a little, then oozed some pus. He put in a bunch of gauze and told me to come back to my regular doctor today. I am going this afternoon but my gauze fell out and it was brown and gross. I am worried, why didn't this heal? Will it? It hurts a lot too. I just went back to work and thought I was out of the woods and here we go again.

Incision Open at 7 weeks...

You could have a small blood clot under your incision. I had one that oozed brown, yucky blood for about three weeks. My incision opened up about a week after surgery. It took a long time to close up and actually I still have a little hole that's not quite healed up. From what I have read and from other posts these drainage issues can take a long time to resolve, but eventually most of them will.
I know you're discouraged, but I'm glad that you get to see your dr today. Some tips, the doctor may pack your incision or not. It depends on the dr and how much you are draining. If you have to keep changing gauze pads, you might want to buy non-irritating paper tape because it will lessen the pulling on your skin. Also you might want to cut any pubic hairs short you have to tape over. I learned the hard way, that pulling the tape off can be a big ouch! Also, if you bleed through the gauze, it helps to put a panty liner on your underwear. Good luck and try not to worry too much. Hugs to you.
