ovaries working???

I am at 6 1/2 weeks and kept my ovaries. I don't go for my check-up till Tues.
I feel like I cry about everything. I am moody. I am having what I think is heart palpatations all day. I am fighting vaginal dryness and maybe a yeast infection as well. So many things. I thought this stuff would go back to normal after a little time but its not. Is anyone out there fighting this too. Is it possible that my ovaries are not working or that they won't go back to normal after surgery. I can't stand all the thoughts and waiting. Can anyone relate or help? Thanks!

ovaries working???

Hi! I am 10 months post op and I'm still not sure whether or not my ovaries are working. I am having many of the same symptoms you are having plus occasional nausea and alternating bouts of insomnia and fatigue. I've heard that it can take a while for the ovaries to come out of shock, and sometimes ovaries don't "come out of it" at all. I'm going to have my hormone levels checked soon to see what's going on. You are still early on in your recovery. You may still be experiencing fluctuations in your hormones due to your surgery.

ovaries working???

Thank you so much for responding. I have been waiting all day to hear something. I apprecaite knowing that someone else is having the same issues to know I am not alone here. I am sorry to hear you are still fighting this after so long. I hope you get feeling better soon. I look forward to going to the doctors on Tues. to ask all these questions and hopefully get a hormone test done or something.
Thanks again and best wishes for your recovery.

ovaries working???

I too am having problems with the emotional mood swings as well as the fatigue and the inability to sleep. I had a TVH am almost 4 wks post-op and kept my ovaries. I went into see my DR today because the swings are getting to bad. He didn't want to start me on anything just yet but if they don't start working right soon, he said we would discuss the options later on. Like everyone else around here has told me, hang in there, get plenty of rest, and keep you chin up. I have found that it helps even more to stay away from or ignore things that really trigger my swings, lol which is almost everything these days. Good Luck, I can honestly say, I know how hard this rollar coster ride is. God Bless

ovaries working???

Just got back from my gp and am discouraged. I was on a low dose of thyroid meds before surgery for about 4 months and was supposed to go in for a recheck after about 2 months but never did. Since having these symptoms, I went in today. She said she couldn't understand how the emotions and mood swings would be hormonal because he didn't touch my ovaries. Then she gave me samples of zoloft to take for "a while" and said that would fix things. Huh?? :confuse: I just hate taking drugs and had a nightmare time trying to get off of an AD a year and a half ago. Won't know the results of the bloodwork until Monday or so.

ovaries working???

I don't know if my ovaries are my friends or not. I have been moody for awhile and I do take Zoloft for depression. Guess not enough to edge off the moodieness! lol I'm just trying to remind myself that I've had surgery and I am still healing. It will work out for you, you are healing still.

ovaries working???

Oh My It has been 7 weeks since my surgey and I have been fighting with the hot flashes and the mood swings. I only have one ovary left and I was on lupron 3 months prior to the surgery. I haven't been able to sleep either. I hope and pray when I start back to exercise it will help with some of the mood maddness. Sometimes when I can catch myself I try to get by myself until it passes. I'm not sure how long I can do this before I ask about HRT
