confused, why yeast infection now?

I am currently on vivelle dot and estring and developed a yeast infection. I was feeling fine until I took out the estring for 3 days while I was dabbling with bioidenticals(at the advice of my doc). When I started to experience
some vaginal irritation I put the estring back in, and decided to switch to vivelle. Could taking it out for 3 days have caused this? I took it out now so I could use some cream, but I am concerned that not having it in for a few days will make matters worse. This is a pretty bad one as it seems to have affected the whole recatl area as well with severe diaper like rash.

IMHO, trying to get everything in balance can cause everything to go out of whack. I got a yeast infection trying to figure out how to deal with vaginal dryness. I think I tried too many things in too short a timeframe. Talk to the dr. That is what s/he is there for. Good luck.

giselle,
I think you should call your doctor and get his/her advise on what to do. It's probably a good idea to have the doc check it out also to be sure that it is a yeast infection.

I agree with you sar-gurl, the dryness is the worst part about this whole surgery. I have tried over-the-counter remedies and still having problems. I am going to call my DR tomorrow to see if he can help me. I have done all I can do on my own, now I need his help. I am afraid to try sex anymore because it hurts too much! My DH is very understanding, but enough is enough. Something has to be done about this.
