Gosh I am so very tired now. I do not think that I am doing a lot, but I just feel like sleeping, and when I try I can't get to sleep. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to get ENERGY. Other than that I am down to 2 tylenol 8hs pills a day. It hasn;t been 2 weeks yet. So pain wise I am good. Energy though is a different question. Hope all are well.

Since you're less than 2 weeks, all I can offer is be patient. Many of us have dealt with the sleepless times. I think much is due to resting so much during the day...a nap here, a nap there...then when it's night, well, we've just don't need as much...The change of hormone levels can make a difference too.
It does get better when you get more active and off the medications.
Give yourself time to heal, and as they say here - Pamper the Princess!

IT took me ten days to begin to feel better. I was exhausted almost all the time those first two weeks, then I turned a corner. Rest whenever you can, and take it easy and before you know it you will feel human again.

I am at 10 weeks.. I think.. I have only had a couple nights that I actually slept more than 2 hours at a time. This is from hormone levels being off. I am working with my doctor and compounding pharmacist to fix it, but it is going to be a long process. Make sure you tell your doctor that you are not sleeping. However, he/she may not want to give you anything until you are back to work. That is what happened with me. So anyway, I can't offer you a solution to your problem, but I can let you know that you are not alone. There are a lot of sleepless sisters out there.

I just got up from a nap. I could sleep (rest) all the time. I am right there with you on that one. I hope we feel more energy soon..

I had my TAH/BOS on the same day as you. I haven't slept good in 2 years so I guess this is about the same for me. I have been taking short naps in the day and trying not to sleep after about 3:00p.m. in the day. I hope you get to feeling better. Have you had any other problems that being tired?

I have a good night sleep. lucky for me my DH always sleeps w/a little fan on us, so its not cold or hot. So I do get rest at night. But even after 7/8 hrs sleep I am exhausted. I was taken off ALL restrictions at 1 week post op even with all the internal damage I had before hyster. I feel great I can do light speed walking, So I really should not complain. I do apologise if I sound selfish. I really am not. I have so much to do. I know that I should relax but we are buying a house and I have to pack.,clean etc.. Don't worry I haven't done any of that yet. I am to tired. The only meds i am on are Estroven extra, Flinstones vitamin, and tylenol when needed(which has been once a day.)Gosh I do sound selfish. I am so sorry. I just really want to start my new life. I can't say get back to normal, because normal was filled with pain for 16 years. So literally I am starting a new life. Well, I do have some helpful tips on some situations in which I have encountered. So if anyone needs advice or just wants to ramble feel free to let me know. I am a good listener and can give good support, even though this post doesn't seem so. Thank you for all your advice. i really do apologize If I seemed selfish .

jade_rose,
How exciting, getting to move to a new house! Glad you haven't started with the packing/cleaning part. Now is the time to "call in your favors"...what friends/family have you helped in the past that could help you with this? My DD got married 6 months following my surgery, and much of the planning was done during my initial recovery period in the recliner. My friends were so supportive and helpful. So round 'em up and see who can help. Best of luck on the move.
