False nails?

Does anyone know if I should have these taken off before surgery? I'm not sure if the blood pressure finger-thingy will fit over the top (they're not massively long - half a centimetre beyond the ends of my fingers). An ex-nurse friend told me yesterday they like to see your fingertips in case they turn blue from oxygen problems. Anyone know?

False nails?

I had acrylic nails with dark nail polish on when I had a LEEP done in the o.r. in November. They didn't say anything about the nails, didn't even take the nail polish off. The finger O2 satuation monitor worked just fine.

False nails?

This is a question for your hospital pre-op admitting. I have acrylic overlay on my nails for strengthening. I was told to remove the polish from one nail.

I have acrylic nails and the hospital said that they were fine. They didn't want dark red polish because they have found that it is hard for the machine to read through. I didn't have any problem, just lighter polish.
