ok,i need your advise please

ok,most of you know about my staph mrsa infection,my 2 surgeries besides my hyst, and i now have a open incison being packed...ok,got that out of the way.....i woke up this morning, and had some bad pains,in my right side...at first i thought it was my ovarian cyst,as i have dealt with this for years so i know the pain immediatly, however,i soon realized, this pain is different...as the day has wore on,the pain has gotten much worse, and coming closer together..i am hurting very very bad in my lower right side, the pain is very bad sharp pains...ive never really had a pain like this,so of course i have a million thoughts going through my head now as the pain keeps getting worse...ive had to take one fo my 50 mg phenergan cause i feel like im going to throw up at any minute..i dont know if this is my appendix,or what...i was wondering if its a appendix flare up,how long does it take to come on..i mean, once you start having a appendix attack,is it pretty much a thing that happens within a matter of a couple hours,or could it hurt me all day??im for sure calling my doctor tomorrow, but im just abit worried tonight, and its very uncomfortable...thanks ladies...sonie

Sonie, I think I'd go ahead and go to the ER tonight, with all you've already been through.

I agree. If it is your appendix and it's hurting this badly, you need to be seen now, not in the morning. Could also be kidney stones, which are very painful and could be dangerous.

I'm not trying to scare you, but you've been through so much -- why take any chances now? Please take care of yourself.

I agree Sonie...go to the ER. You've been doing too well now for you not to recognize a new problem that needs to be looked at. Better safe than sorry and as always I will pray for you. Let us know.

Oh my dear Sonie, I just cringed when I saw this with your name, again. I know you must be exhausted with the constant ups and downs.
Now for my honest opinion, based on nursing experience. An appendix attack is usually very severe and often includes nausea, It is usually a sudden sharp pain located in the right lower quadrant, If someone tried to feel that are you would recoil and pull away , sort of guarding it. People have been known to last a day or two with the pain without getting it looked at, but if it is the appendix and it should rupture, you can get a nasty infection and peritonitis, NOT meant to scare yo, but to encourage you to act on it soon,, You should never wait on a pain as bad as you are describin, especially in light of your history. Good luck, now get going, we are here for you. Linda

hey ladies...thanks for all your advise,as i was hurting so bad i couldnt see straight....i went to the er way in the middle of the night, then followed with my gyno early this morning...ya'all arent going to believe this..er did blood tests,a ct scan,AND a vaginal ultra sound...they sent a preliminary report to my doc this morning, and here is what it says........The study shows a large complex heterogeneous mass within the right ovary. The mass measures 6x3 x 5x8 x 6.3 cm. There appears to be some degeneration within this lesion with cystic and solid components. The lesion is very heterogeneous. The appearance is nonspecific. Findings could be related to an endometrioma, hemorrhagic cyst or possibly ovarian neoplasm. my doctor did a ca-125 blood test in his office, which i not worried about..but where i stand now is,i wanna smack the crap out of my doc as i WANTED my ovaries out during my tah because i have dealt with these stupid things since i was pregnant at 16...but,on the bright side, its not my appendix...lol.i have a appt to go back to see him next week when the blood results are in,and he said we will go from there, but,i did make it very very plain to him, that considering i still have a HUGE gapping hole in my stomach from my tah 3 months ago,i will not have surgery for this...i think 3 surgeries in 3 months is just enough for my body..he better hope it goes away, cause im sure not getting cut on again...at this point,im soo tired of taking pills, and being packed, and i just dont wanna deal with this in the slightest....he so shoulda listened to me,and took my ovaries...and the thing about it could be possibly be a endometrioma sounds insane to me,because after my tah,he told me i did not have endo..maybe its just a dermoid or something...good ol ovaries, gotta love em!lol....anyway,i do think for now,im just going to control the pain when i have it,and hope maybe this thing goes away on its own...im sure it isnt cancerous.during my tah,he drained 2 cysts..one on my left ovary, one on the right..the one on the right was also a complex cyst, but he never did tell me what kind..i guess i shoulda asked, but with everything else ive dealt with, that honestly was the last thing on my mind..could the old cyst have"reinflated"?maybe that sounds silly, but it just seems weird to me that its on the same ovary, and its once again a complex cyst...oh well, anyway, thats the saga update on me..lol....(((hugs)))) to all of you....sonie

i asked my dh on our way home from the doctor this morning who in the heck have i ticked off,and what did i do...medically speaking, ive never expierenced this much grief all together..guess im making up for all 30 years at once...i had my twins at 16,then had 2 more, then my last pregnancy was triplets, and ill be honest with you,i think 1,having babies at such a young age, then having more than one baby at a time really did a number on my body, but the pregnancy with my triplets was by far the hardest on my body..im only 5'2,and at the time i got preggo with the triplets,i weighed 131 pounds, and i really think it just screwed my body up.either way,im gonna ind my p'sand q's,and ask god for forgiviness for whatever bad thing i musta done, cause i sure musta done something

Oh Sonie girl - just hang in there!
We're all hoping and keeping our fingers crossed that everything works out well for you.
Maybe it is just that ovary puffing up again.
Once about 10 years ago I was all set to have a biopsy done on one of my ovaries that was swollen to the size of a large orange, and then I had a fever and couldn't do the surgery, and then a few weeks later when we rescheduled, the stupid thing was it's normal size again!@#@ Go figure!
Just keep resting and let yourself heal. . .
(But keep on top of those doctors too!)
