Nothing heavier than a fork

As I anxiously anticipate my trip to the castle on Thursday, my dear mother, who will be staying with me for a few days post op, reminded me of the advice my grandmothers gave her when she had her hysterectomy about 25 years ago and they came to help take care of all of us kids.....despite what anyone says, you never lift anything heavier than a fork! My grandmothers were so wise

I can vaguely remember those days....I'm surprised my poor father didn't just move out, heehee. My grandmothers were fabulous, formidable women.

Most definitely! I'm looking forward to the return of the no broth days. I have tomorrow yet to eat normally.

My gynecologist-surgeon also told me he didn't want me lifting anything heavier than a fork until he saw me for my 2-week post-op. He meant it. I guess that is when most of our healing occurs. I'd say it must be good advice.

Becky, Good luck to you too ! We're going to so great. How are you holding up? So far in the last 24 hours, I've cleaned my house, cried because it was embarassingly dirty, washed my curtains (clear sign something's up!), cried some more I think because the curtains are ugly, ate half a box of chocolate covered oreos, cried because there were no more oreos and yelled at the washing machine. When I awoke this morning, I thought, "wow, I feel calm." No wonder after yesterday. Hope today is a good one!

That is awesome advise! The first two weeks are the most critical! I wish all you ladies the best! Oh, and I would definatly buy some of those moist flushable wipes (like charmin) for the return home. They feel so much better than regular TP for those first BM's!

Good luck to all the princesses!
