Returning to work

HI I had a Lsh Bso on the 25th, I was planning on returning to work next week, although I put in for 4 weeks off. I work in an outpatient reocovery room. Some days are real busy and I am on my feet and up and down and pushing carts and some days are quiet. I am feeling like a wimp, yesterday we went to the store and when my dh went off to find some thing to eat I was pushing the cart and it was hurting to do so. I have good days and then bad days. I tend to overdue then I pay for it. I am now considering waiting the 4 weeks, just wanted input from others who have had this procedure. Thanks Missy

Returning to work

I went back to work after 4 weeks to. Everyone thought I was pushing it at 4 weeks. I can tell you this after work I was so tried. For the first 2 week back to work I would just go home and go to bed. Just don't push yourself.

Returning to work

TAKE your time!! You need the 4 weeks. As women, I think we have such a tendency to keep on going and doing. Your body needs to heal; if there are times when you will be on your feet, those are the times you should consider b/c they will tire you out. It is easier to stay home now, then go back and have to tell them at work that you should not have. Best of luck)

Returning to work

I have 2 jobs and waited 4 weeks before I went back to the first(I`m a fitness instructor at a gym) and then another 2 weeks before adding the other( I`m also a nurse on a BUSY med-surg floor) and BOY ,I was VERY tired those first few weeks (and sometimes got swelly belly back along with cramps )...........so DEFINATELY take your time......Your the best judge of how you feel ........not the neccesarily the calender!!!!!! Returning to work

Hi there,
Well even though I had a TAH, I would recommend take the 4 weeks or longer. You only get 1 chance to heal right. You don't want to go back to early and then regret it. Best wishes to you and with your recovery.

Take the four weeks

I had a LAVH on April 4th. I went back to work last Wednesday--I was in pain within 4 hours, Stayed for about 6 1/2. Went home and called the doctor for Ibuprofen, then laid on the couch in pain for the rest of the evening. Next day went to work and I was fine. Friday, I was ok, but groggy all day. I am lucky, in that I have a desk job, so I worked at a slow to moderate pace. This weekend I rested alot. Today, I felt normal until about 9:00 PM and started feeling crampy. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. This is my first full week of work since prior to the surgery.
My advice: I took 4 weeks, and really could have taken an extra week or two. Once you go back to work early, you're stuck. Before my surgery everyone at work told me, "Don't come back too early!!"
