3 weeks and still pain with bm's and...
Hi, I had my operation 3 weeks ago today and am still having pain before, during and after bowel movements and cramping with urination. I am doing everything possible - walking, drinking lots of water, eating high fiber foods, taking stool softeners and gas-x. Has anyone else had this problem and how long does it last? Is there anything else I can do or not do? Thanks in advance for your help.

It took me about 2 months before everything seemed to get back functioning again...without the extreme pain. It's been 7+ months and I've had to redefine what is "normal" for me.
No big solution here, but want you to know you're not alone!

3 weeks and still pain with bm's and...
Good Morning girls. It will get better I promise. One thing that really really helped me with bms was putting my feet on a step stool so that my knees where higher than my hips and it really helps take the pressure of going to the bathroom. Good Luck and sending lots of prayers and hugs

I'm 5 wks.post op & still having the samo problems, constipation, pain before and during. Milk of magnesia helps and I have found if I have a beer or two at night I go in the morning usually with no problems. Don't do this all the time and don't know if it's the beer but it has happened 2 or 3 times. You are not alone.

Thanks for responding
Hi, thanks for responding to my post - it helps knowing I'm not the only one having this problem and even though there is not much to be done except wait, I'm glad I'm not alone. This site is such a help and support during this time.
