Cleared By DR, Now What??????

Ok, Hey everyone, I went to my 6 wk checkup today and have officially been deemed medical healthy, no more probs as of now but now what? I have already started back to work , went back on Saturday, not as easy as it used to be, that's for sure. As for the emotional issues, he doesn't want to put me on anything for another 3 weeks. He said he is hoping that by my next cycle, my ovaries will wake up on their own and begin functioning again. But now the big worry, I am officially cleared for sex. BUT, I have no labido, no urge, and a major fear that it is going to hurt so badly, that I am scared to even try. Has anyone else had this problem? At first, like the week after my surgery, I was really interested and then the hot flashes and mood swings set in and I lost everything. I am only 6 wks post op now but am really worried about this as my DH got this really thrilled look on his face when DR said you are released to both life and hubby again. I have not even had outter course, was going to then got scared of something happening and stopped. I have kept my DH happy and well cared for but just not myself. I am really worried and scared about this right now as now I am cleared for everything and don't want it....

Please help, any ideas or anything is more than I have right now. I talked to my DR about it and he said it is also a hormonal thing and it should return when my ovaries wake up BUT when is that going to happen??

Thanks for everything and hope everyone else is getting along ok as well.

I have been cleared to have sex starting this Friday but I haven't told hubby! I am too scared to do it.

My DH and I have been having lots of outercourse. I want to have sex! I have been "more in the mood" these past few weeks than I have in 8 years. (That is weird!)

But because I am scared-I told my hubby that the doctor said 2 more weeks! LOL But-I keep passing my sutures and they hurt when they come out!

He is going to be a happy camper when I finally feel like I can have sex again I am thinking about "going away" with him-like a mini vacation next weekend-just to celebrate! I think that might make me feel a little more relaxed...

Bubba~Sue-who is scared to have sex too-but wants to have sex!

I was scared to dealth and given the okay at 6weeks. Dh was jsut as scared to hurt me and we waited until 8 weeks...it ended up being more of an experince to "check things out" and didnt go so well. Now he doesnt go allthe way to teh cuff as it is still tender and I am stilla bit swollen inside adn feel smaller...we use astroglide for that and i would recomend that. IT does take a while for soem of us to feel up to it . Well wishes

I was cleared last Fri, and DH and I decided to give it a try. I was sooooo scared. I let him know the doc had given some extra instructions (have to take it slow and gentle, etc) but everything worked just fine. I had a bit of discomfort after for a couple of hours, but nothing too bad.
Just glad to know things still work!!!
I think we're all scared at first though. Just take it slow.
Best of luck,
Kimberley

I guess I was lucky cus I talked to dr right in front of him and doc gave him the instructions really not me. I had told dr that I was having issues about the sex thing and wasn't sure about much of anything these days. That was when dr told me that he felt it was probably hormonal and that he wanted to give it a couple more weeks, through my next cycle to see if my ovaries would work then, if not the he said we would work with differnet things until he could get me leveled back out and feeling good again. LOL I told him I was sure if everyone around me could last 3 more weeks with my mood swings, they already wanted to call an exorcist on me the other day at work, lol. God help everyone that comes in my path the next couple weeks, I pray that my ovaries wake up before then! Thanks for the responces, I feel better knowing that I am not the only one with this fear. Thanks all, you're the greatest!

Hi Banchie75
This is very normal to be nervous, especially when your desire isn't there. You need to talk to your dh about this and get it all out in the open. If he has expectations that you aren't ready to meet the sooner the better. You really need him to be understanding and patient. If you feel pressured it will only hinder the process and possible make for a negative experience.
Hopefully your ovaries will soon come around and start doing their job. If the 3 wks doesn't help ask for something to help you and if they kick in you can always back off of using it.
There is a new Post-Op Sex Checkpoint that covers most every aspect of this subject. There might be some information there that would be helpful.
Just because you are physically ready doesn't mean you are ready. You need to be ok with it in all respects. I hope everything will soon be better. Most of the time we worry for no reason. Most of us were very pleasantly surprised.

I am seperated and don't have a partner now...so I should'nt worry now but gosh, I want some in the future!! Any one out there with good news in this situation??

I have been cleared for this Sunday. Both my DH and I are nervous about it. Dr. said take it slow and easy. We both have the desire but I have a feeling it's going to be a disaster! Maybe if I drink lots of wine it will relax me.
