Surgery is cancelled

I'm still in Atlantic City until tomorrow and the rest of my trip has been ruined. I guess my doctor's office didn't care that my message stated not to cancel my surgery because they did so anyway. They just called and left a message. I called the insurance company, go no where yet again, left a rather nasty message for my gyn (and I didn't mean it, but I am very upset), they called back and I still haven't listened to it. Left a message for the appeal line of the insurance company, not that I'm going to get anywhere with that. I can still appeal through the state and there are programs available to me through the hospital, but does my doc care, no freaking way.

Even if the appeals are ever won, I don't think I want that office to do my surgery anyhows. At this moment, I guess I go home tomorrow, find a way back on my work schedule, deal with the pain (and never call out until next March since I will be fired) for now and the rest of my life, or until I'm 50. I'm not going back on BCP, I'll let them see what my body yells @ me when my reproductive system refuses to function. Forget the clumps of mucous discharge too, I'm sure I'm just imagining those. Have to keep going through my every 6 month paps, most likely with a different office, and pretty much paying out of pocket for those too, since I'll have to re-meet my deductible come November. All 1800 of it.

Well, off to finish off my ruined vacation and go home without a care in the world ... Why should I care, no one else does? Or at least no one did except the ladies on here and the pre-op nurse.

*hugs* Im sorry! Dont give up though! Find a dr. that will listen to you and that you feel comfortable with. Sounds like that dr. isnt too concerned with your overall well being or he wouldnt cancel on you when you are in such pain. I'll be thinking of you and praying for you! *hugs*

I'm so sorry you are going thru this. I had by TAH/BSO last summer, age 27. After my surgery, my lovely insurance decided to drop me and leave me with over 40k in hospital bills. Appeal, after appeal, after appeal, they finally paid them all. Hang in there and fight them till the end. It does sound like you need another doctor, however. My gyn was an integeral part in having my claims paid. I know its very stressful. Put your faith in God, thats what I did.

DON"T GIVE UP!!!!I didn't have any problems with my insurance but I sure did with the doctors...7 years of it. I finally found a doctor who listened and made sure my insurance listened as well.
You are worth it! You need to find someone to help you. ,s

You have all my love and sympathy. Though you're emotionally and physically exhausted right now, after you've given yourself a breather, don't give up the fight, hit the so and so's where it hurts - the wallet.

Surgery is cancelled

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this! My worst nightmare was that my surgery would be cancelled on me, as I saw it happen to a co-worker of mine 3 different times (not for a hyst, though) - I almost called them myself to ask them not to reschedule me! My last doctor didn't want to attempt surgery on me due to possible bowel damage so I went through almost 5 years of medical hell and finally switched insurance plans and doctors and found a wonderful new doctor who did the surgery without hesitation and did a fantastic job - however, I ended up with a $1500 deductible, which only would have cost me $250 if they had done it under my previous insurance instead of jerking me around for 4+ years. I don't blame you for being angry right now, I know I would as well. Please try not to get discouraged, though. The thing that has always helped me in times like this is to tell myself that everything happens for a reason, even if we don't necessarily know what that reason is right now. In the end this may end up working out even better for you than it might have otherwise. Please take care of yourself; we're all here for support if you need it.
