Hysto at 21, Now 44 Here's what's going on

Hello, I had my Total Hysterectomy when I was 21. Prior to this I had a son and 2 miscarriages. The Hysterectomy was done due to uncontrolable bleeding among many other problems. Now at 44 yrs of age I don't regret having it done as I couldn't enjoy life as I was and my health was at risk. After the Surgery I was thrown into a full blown Surgical Menopause. I was told that this would happen then and that would be it but I find myself now for several months feeling the very same symptoms. On Friday I had a Colonoscopy and was told that I had a considerable amount of scar tissue throughout my Colon due to the Hystorectomy. Reason for the Colonoscopy was severe constipation. Turns out that the doctor said that the scar tissue along with the pain medicaton I have do take for chronic pain is causing the problem. Uncontrolable sweating , anxiety and depression is the main problem right now. I would love to hear from anyone who seems to be experiencing a 2nd menopause. My doctor prescribes Premerin Cream for the vaginal dryness which is a huge problem and it seems to help. Sexual desire slowly deminished through the years following the surgery along with the decreased sensitivity during relations resulting in rare if any orgasms. (I hope that word is ok). It's a tricky trade from one evil to another. Nothing comes without a price and with a Hystorectomy I find the price high but what do you do when your health and quality of life is a risk. You're 21 and don't know a thing, scared and your doctor that you trust says that you need an emergency hysterectomy right away. You do it. As I said, I don't regret it but you should educate yourself and be prepaired for the effects afterwards. I knew nothing about what to expect afterwards. I'm now searching for a natural option to help with the symptoms I'm experiencing now. Thank you so much. Mickysnana

Are you on hormones? If not I would check into the
bio-identicals and definitely use the vaginal estrogen.
The results of a hyst are not pretty at least for me it
hasn't been and I was 51. Nobody told me either, I had no idea what this would do to me. I feel for you having been only 21.
The hormones can help some of the things, very
little has helped my vagina, and I can only tolerate
a small amout of the vaginal estrogen but even a little
bit helps. Good luck

thank you

thank you for your reply to my post. So far the cream is ok but I find that it has a heating and somewhat burning affect when first applied. It does help. I was lucky that I was able to concieve 1 miracle child before having the surgery. I had lost 2 others. I am blessed. Thanks again, Cheryl
