Physical therapy
I started physical therapy yesterday, at nine weeks post-op. I had a little trouble convincing my doctor to write the prescription, but I'm so glad I did. My friend was told nothing about exercising her abs and a few months after her hyser she permanently ruined her back, leading to her having to retire at age 52. She suggested that I do the physical therapy as soon as I was well enough in order to prevent trouble. I was a little nervous about it because I'm still so sore. The therapist checked it out and confirmed my suspicion that I have adhesions. What I didn't know is that PTs can do something about adhesions. It doesn't feel very good, but he's started ultrasound and deep massage in addition to gentle abdominal exercises. I'm hopeful about this. I'll let you know how I do.

Physical therapy
What a wonderful idea! I had 12 weeks PT when I originally wrecked my back - I'll bet a couple weeks to get things started back in the right direction would be a good thing to do. My PT mostly consisted of easy stretches and some real easy abdominal strengthening exercises - nothing I think would hurt me at 8 weeks if supervised by a pro? I will talk with my Dr about this at my 2 week appointment since it might take some time to get approved and set up.

Physical therapy
i had to really nag my doc to rx me some pt, but i am glad i did. i've learned a million ways to kegel, how to put pressure on trigger points to achieve relaxation and pain relief, and how to go about everyday activities - laundry, vacuuming, reaching, carrying etc- in ways that won't hurt me. the therapist also went over my exercise plans and gave me modifications and advice.
we get sooo beat up from the surgery, i'm amazed pt isn't routinely prescribed.
