Interesting Urination

Dr. said she had to Peel and Scrape all the adhesions from my bladder during my Hyst. (TAH, kept ovaries). When I first got home, I noticed my bladder seemed sluggish, and it took a while for it to start working correctly. I would tinkle then stop, tinkle, then stop then I would go until my bladder was empty. I could actually "feel" it sort of fold up inside as it emptied...not painful, just a little weird. Then I started urinating normally.

I pee more now that I used to. I pee all the time. I don't have incontinence, and no urgency problems, but I tend to get up and go when I feel like I have to which is roughly every 20-30 minutes or so. I can still feel my bladder folding up inside....

Is this pretty normal with a hyst?

Interesting Urination

I can honestly say that I've never heard of someone sensing their bladder folding. Perhaps your surgeon can explain what is actually happening to your bladder when you get that sensation.

Urinating every 20 to 30 minutes sounds inconvenient. Your doc needs to know about that.

Not everyone having a hyst ends up having their bladder scraped, so I am assuming that the extra work on your bladder is contributing to your situation.

Please come back and let us know what your doc thinks, OK?

Take care.........s.....Deb

Interesting Urination

T,

With the removal of my uterus combined with bladder repair, I have a different sensation when my bladder needs to empty. I'm not sure I'd describe it as "folding." It's like slowly emptying a water balloon. That's the best way I can describe it. The bladder repair was definitely a successful surgery. No more stress incontinence. I also have a lot more control. If not still early in healing, I'd be doin' a happy dance! YEAH!!!
